Hi everyone
We want to go to Clacton (or the area) for a short break over the bank holiday at the end of this month. Nice beach and traditional "seaside"stuff.
Short notice, I know, but can anyone recommend a nice hotel, place to go etc? Family of 5 - mum, dad, son(11), daughter(6), gran(80). All travelling in a Ford Focus Estate so parking would be factor (dare I say a necessity).

musicman. can't give advice on hotels in clacton as we only live 40 minutes away but for us walton is better than clacton. it has more of a beach and quite a few arcades for the children ( and feels more like a seasidey town than clacton )and you will be nearer to frinton which someone of 80 will so like. its full and i mean full of older people but the beach here is the best. we certainly feel happy to swim in the sea at walton and frinton. medot.xx
