We stayed at the Club Amaris I will look for my write up and send you the link and send it to you it was brilliant who did you book with as they were previously with Virgin Sun and Richard Branson in his wisdom stopped selling European Holidays concentrating on USA and long haul

The write up has been deleted as it was about 3 years ago, well what can I remember they are situated in a lovely quiet area of Marmaris if you have been before they area few minutes walk from the main road where the Large Indian is Taj Mahal, the owner is very nice we arrived there and within 2 hours my son who was then aged 3 slipped by the pool and knocked himself out, the owner acted like lightening an ambulance was there in record time and we were taken to the Cara Hospital where we were seen immediately by a Neuro Surgeon x rayed and given the all clear, at a cost of about 30.00 pounds where could you get service like that in the UK a taxi was arranged for us to go back to the apartments where the owner was very concerned as to my son well being asking us if there was anything we needed, the apartments were immaculate we had the apartments on the top floor in the roof which were very spacious, the pool is small but adequate the bar is well stocked and stayed open until the last person went to bed, we watched our 1st Turkish Night there which was good and food was great, we would have definately gone back there again but unfortunately couldn't find these apartments in any brochure, if you want any more info just ask

It's my wife and I's 25th wedding anniversary in June and we were planning on booking a weeks' holiday to celebrate it

However my son as a surprise booked a weeks' break for us :D

He booked the Club Armar in Armutalan Marmaris

I wish I'd not looked at the hotel reviews now as they don't look very favourable :(

I'd have gone there with an open mind had I not read the reports

I've not said anything to the wife and I daren't tell our son

I'm chuffed to bits that he booked us a holiday  albeit he couldn't really afford it as he is in his third and last year at university

The thought was there and I'm really grateful although reading this you wouldn't think so

Good to get it out my system though

Regards

didn't look too bad - to be honest holidays are always a personal thing anyway - one persons hell is another persons heaven!

take it is as it comes, go and have a ball - the people there will make up for everything and you will come away in love with turkey

Hi alizda

I'm determined to have a good holiday, it's not our first visit to Turkey, so we have friends we can visit

I think he went for the all inclusive option, so just worried that he's spent extra going for that option and the food etc won't be up to much

We've been all inclusive elsewhere (not in Turkey) and always went out for meals and drinks, so going out won't bother us, especially as we plan on visiting the Chill bar in Icmeler, just if we have to eat out every day

Thanks

Anybody any idea please when the refurbishment took place of the Club Armar?

Just wondering if it was before or after the latest hotel reviews posted :?

Thanks

John

I checked out the rooms in the Armar 2 years ago and thought the place was spot on.

When we were in Marmaris in March 2004 there was a lot of work going on - looked to be both external & internal.

I have only seen this hotel from the outside - but looks very nice and dont think you would have any worries

cheers
