Sorry for double-posting this, I thought I may get more of a response on a new thread :cheers :

after a great trip to Club Candan in June 06 (I posted on feedback here back then), I'm now thinking of another trip again next year in 09. i know! talk about booking in advance

i'll be booking through Portland again probably, but can anyone give me some tips on when is the best time to book for the cheapest price and ensuring availability? I know that booking as late as possible can pay off but don't want to take that risk, however I don't want to book too far in advance that I'm paying more than I should.

OR should I hit the teletext agents? would they be able to beat the Portland/Thomson prices? as the moment, the Portland website is only offering paltry discounts off the brochure price (literally £10-£20 off)

would appreciate a rough guide on how to go ahead please :cheers or tell me I'm wasting my time!

oh, and has market day changed ;) will be looking forward to some bargains :tongue
thanks

Flying out next thursday with daughter (7) and son (5), and staying at club candan. Have never been there before. In fact its a first time to Turkey!!

The book says that there is a kids club ((booked through tomsons)) but was wondering if anybody knew whether or not it was still running in October?

Also is it one where you can leave the kiddies at for 1-2 hour sessions in the care of qualified child entertainers??

Just wondering if I am gonna get chance to read my new book by the poolside is all........ ;)

Hiya Hayley, as you know i was staying at club candan 2 years ago, and there wasnt any kids clubs on....(not that i noticed anyway) :think it may have been due to the time of year i went, but... im thinking, maybe if you look at the reviews there maybe some mention of kids clubs etc!

see you next week chick ;)

Yes, it's the kind of kids club, where you drop the little beauties off for a couple of hours. We were there in 2006 & used the kids club, although we were there in July.

Surely a call to your TA should clarify whether the kids club is still running in October?

thanks for the replies -

have scanned round the reviews on here and also on the internet in general and cant find anything. I'm hoping with you Mam, that it was a case of you having a girly break out there so didnt think to look out for the clubs. I do know that last year in majorca it was tucked away and you had to know what you were looking for to find it - if that makes any sense :think

im keeping everything crossed that they will still be open, especially as it is forcast for rain friday and sat ((we're going thurs)) As it is the kind of club where you can drop kids off they're gonna need it. None of us will be too impressed if its constant rain for the first few days and the kids cant do nowt!!!!

yaaaaay, see you saturday Mam!! :D

Hi. The kids club is downstairs from the reception, so you would miss it unless you were actually looking for it !!. not sure about october but we were there at the begining of the season in may and it was operating then.

hi i wonder if anyone could give me any advice, I need some information on the club candan in marmaris, turkey, i need to know as much as possible about the disabled facilities at the hotel, rooms access etc thankyou

Hi
Only just seen your post. My hubbie and I are both disabled but not in wheel chairs. We went here last summer and found it fine. The hotel provided a room on the ground floor and there was a lift to other floors. The pool had normal stair type steps and a hand rail to get in. The shower in our room was over the bath and I needed help to step in and out but I believe some rooms have seperate showers. The extra space in the 2 bedroomed apartment was well worth the extra money for the extra space if there is more than 2 of you. Hope this helps :)

My family and I are staying at the Club Candan Hotel for 2 weeks in august . Both my children are disabled and both require a ventilator when they sleep . They are otherwise fine during the day . I was wondering if any one had any knowledge about how many plug sockets are in each bedroom and also are they the 2 pin european type ? We are staying in a 2 bedroom apartment .
