Hubby, brother and I went to Kitzbuhel about 3 years ago and it was fab. Unfortunately we went over the New Year and there was hardly any snow. In fact we had to go to the first station to find snow and then get a lift up the top of the mountain in order to ski but you could only ski as far as the first station (gondola) and so there was no ski-out and one couldn't do the Hannikam run (shame). However, what was available was brilliant. Down side was that it was New Year, only half a mountain of snow and a million people ski-ing meant for some very busy slopes. Try a bit later in January or February - you will have a great time. We stayed in the Hotel Sonne in Kirchberg which was fantastic.
