I really wouldn't worry too much. Plenty of hotels are refurbed over the winter, it's quite normal, and they are ready for the season. Moreover, no building work can go on during the season in tourist areas, so they would have to have finished before the season as they would be cutting their throats not to have done so.

Thanks for reassuring me on this Andrew,like I said we have stayed here twice before and the wife and daughter enjoy it here.If anyone is going in the next few weeks it would be interesting to know what work they have done.Personally I would like to think they will replace the patio doors & windows in the rooms with double glazed units as they were a bit rickety (and noisy!!)the last time we were there.Thanks again Andrew
