Try booking on-line with http://www.eclipsedirect.co.uk/index.cfm

They have one bedroom apartments at Electra available for August 2006
and they will be cheaper than booking with first-choice (about £3200 for 2 weeks AI) but are part of the first choice group

defiantely cyprus i have been both and will pick cyprus above fuerteventura everytime as there is a lot more to do and it basically nicer , for 1 week yes maybe fuerteventura but 2 weeks go with Cyprus

i will be interested to find out your views on the Cyprus if you go village as we are going to the firts choice village in Lanzarote next year but i want topersuade my partner to go to cyprus

Personally i'd go to Fuerteventura. The beach at Costa Caleta isn't that nice really. It's man made and the sand is solid. However we always hire a car and drive 1 hour to Jandia in the south or, the dunes near Corralejo in the north about 10 mins from Costa Caleta. Fuerteventura is a fantastic island with stunning scenery. Not too over comercial like the other Canary Islands. Costa Caleta town is very child friendly, and full of international restaurants.
I've been to Cyprus too but prefer Fuerte because it's tranquil.

My vote would be for Fuerteventura too. In my opinion the best of the Canaries. Plenty of places to interest the youngsters, but also peace and quiet readily available for when you need to chill out. Driving is easy and not too frenetic ,and, wherever you decide to book your hotel, there's bound to be a lovely beach within a short drive.
