We are going to the Conquistador PDLA in December :D , there have been no reviews since last November and the last three have been pretty negative. Has anyone anything positive to say about the hotel or is it beyond redemption?.

If you look on http://www.tripadvisor.co.uk they have some more recent reviews of this hotel which look fine!

We stayed there for 2 weeks in August 2003.

We paid for Half Board but ended up receiving Full Board for the 2 weeks, to cut a long story short, as the Travel Agent had overbooked us on the first night we had to stay at another hotel in Costa Adeje and when we got to the Conquisator the next day our room was not ready until 1600hrs, when we finally got into our room there was no where for our Daughter to sleep who was 5 at the time 1 bed between 3 of us and a small bed at that.

We moved to another room with 2 beds, but still quite small so after a lot of complaining we were upgraded to full board.

We had an enjoyable stay, hotel very busy & noisy being August but would stay there again.

hello we stayed at this hotel in 2003 my husband myself and teenage son. Lovely hotel and rooms are very nice.Food was excellent. There was only one thing that let this hotel down THE STAFF. I have never in all my years going abroad met such sullen unhelpful staff ever. If my son went to reception for change to play his dad at snooker they would refuse to give him change. If my husband went up and asked for it that was no problem. On our last day we asked to pay for use of a room as our flight was at 9.30pm that evening. We were refused ....there are hundreds of rooms you cant tell me they didnt have one empty. We eventually took our shower gel and towels to pool area and showered. They were furious but i didnt care id paid them over 1400.00 for us to stay there. we got changed in the toilets I would never go back to this hotel on prnciple now.

This Hotel is located in a quiet location, bars and beach are nearby.
Easy to get a taxi, they are outside 24/7
This part of PLDA, in my opinion is nice and if your age is as shown in your post the area will suit you.
Now for the hotel.
It's old, it looks modern, but they have done little to it inside. Our experience was poor, complained until we got some sort of decent room.
Peoples standards are all different, if it isn't what you like and you are with a tour company, complain, if it is a valid complaint, refuse to stay and stick in. Do not move into a room if you feel strongly about it.
If it comes to this, hope it doesn't, my advice would be other hotels in the area that in MY opinion are OK.
1. Vulcano
2. Med Palace
3. La Siesta
4. Tenerife Princess
Hope it goes well for you.

Thanks for that full and frank description of the Conquistador, I do appreciate it.
I have booked with the hotel direct and have reserved a sea view room at a cost of 399euros HB 7 nights which I thought extremely good value. I did book early and looking on Alpha rooms etc it is much more expensive. But I will bear your comments in mind if it doe'snt come up to scratch.

Thanks again,

Dave. 8)

Hey can anyone let me know any details on this hotel and how far away it is from the nightlife

We haven't stayed at the Conquistador since we honeymooned there in 1989, so I am sure the hotels facilities, and surroundings have changed.

Hi zoechelseauk,
We have stayed at the Conquistador a few years ago, there is a nightclub that opens at weekends at the back of the hotel, tends to get a lot of the locals. The patch is only a few minutes away and veronicas only a 20 min walk away. Have a look on google map

click here This map is at least 3-4 years old but you can see conquistador and its position.

If you have google earth, I have place marked the conquistador on it.. Make sure you have google earth community ticked.
I stayed there last Year, the only main complaint was that i found the pool area a bit cramped, I wouldn't reccommend the hotel for people with families. The hotel itself was clean and the staff were friendly. I have added my review of it at http://www.holidaytruths.co.uk/reviews/spain/canary-islands/tenerife/playa-de-las-americas/h10-conquistador-hotel/

Hi, i've stayed in that area many times in Parque Santiago 3, and we keep returning because of the entertainment in that area, "The Strip" is a few minutes walk away in the direction of Los Christianos and the bars in this area offer good entertainment, from tributes to magic to comedians. Then if you walk the opposite way again there is a good selection of samey type bars, a couple of irish bars you really cant go wrong. I would say the surroundings in that area a much nicer than if you went to Los Christianos or towards Veronicas. I'm going back this year but we are going up towards ADEJE only because I got a great All Inclusive price, but i bet I'll be paying for taxis down to where you are lot because the area shall we say is "more upper class"!

Hi ya

Have been to tenerife many times stayed mostly at the Bitacora hotel but and we are going there in July :0)
We are thinking of booking another holiday for Oct at the H10 Conquistador i've had a walk around the hotel before but never seen the rooms can anyone tell me about the rooms eg size wise.
We are looking to book a Family 3+1c with late check out.
1) Are the room sizes good?

2) How late is the late checkout?

3) Do all the family rooms have a balcony it just it seems we have the choice of FAMILY 3+1c (balc) or FAMILY 3+1c (late checkout) so does that mean the late check out has no balcony?

4)
Also my parents are coming too and seem to have the choice of upgrading free of charge a TWIN3 for a family room 3+1c i was just wondrering if its worth them doing that and if the family room is bigger then the twin3?

5) are there any family room 3+1c that are sea view and can we upgrade to a seaviw at the hotel?

ANY ANSWERS GREATLY APPRECIATED :0)

Hi we stayed at the Conquistador last December, the family rooms are a good size quite long with extra room for the cot and small bed, they call them junior suites and our family had a room on the ground floor with a balcony but no seaview. We had a twin room with seaview in an ideal situation on the fifth floor but it was was rather an odd shape and in my opinion would be too small for an extra bed or cot.

Enjoy the Conquistatdor,

Good Luck

Dave
