Never been to Menorca before , our boys will be 16 and 13 but have never really bothered about kids clubs etc and do tend to "enjoy" each others company and hang about with us .
We like self catering and 3 of us enjoy local food (13 yr old is the fly in the ointment)
Our holidays tend to be lazy pool/ beach days a few days out exploring eat out and find somewhere for a quiet drink , don't like kareoke bars or shows .
Last year was Protaras and this year is Pefkos is menorca for us as some people seem to say we will find it too quiet but I don't think we will , can anyone offer an opinion.
A beautifull horseshoe bay to go snorkelling in. A lovely beach.
Good restaurants offering varied menus - have a look at menorca-net.co.uk one of the members has put some menus on there to look at.
Evening entertainment if you choose, are at the Aguamarina hotel or some of the smaller self catering aparthotels.
There is also some nice walks in the area.
People go here to chill out, it isnt commercialised.
Menorca sounds right up your street from your description. Cala'n Bosch on the south west tip of the island is a very pleasant family resort I like with a couple of beaches, plenty of self-catering accommodation, a smart marina with a choice of bars and restaurants around it and a water park. It's not far from the attractive town of Ciutadella either for when you need to stock up at the hypermarket or just want to experience a bit more Menorcan culture .
from a few years back... Arenal D'en Castell, the Hotel Aguamarina, bottom bar looking out over the bay
Who di dyou book augamaina through
can't remember it was a few years back... a search in google might find it ?
If you go to travel agent and give them the name of the hotel, they can look it up in a book and tell you who goes there.
First Choice, Direct holidays and Thomas Cook all do packages to that particular hotel to my knowledge.
I don't think you can go wrong with Menorca - we love it there
The Aguamarina is the current name for what was originally two hotels - the 3* Aguamarina (right above the beach) and the 2* Topacio (set a little way back) - now called Block A and B (or vice versa). Although there's a programme of refurbishments going on, the ex-Topacio rooms are smaller - specify a sea view and I guess you should be okay.
From people I know who have been there recently, it's really best for families with small children.
Thanks for the replies , as we will be self catering it needs to be somewhere with plenty of choice for eating out nearby and I have seen a couple of places that seem to fit the bill ....now all I need is work to sort out NEXT YEARS holiday rota
