Hi
I'm new to this forum, and would just like to know if anyone has been to the Continental Park Hotel in Alcudia, and any information you can give me. I am booked to go there with my 6 year old son on 19th August and would like some information as the reviews I have read have been very mixed.
Thanks
Sara
Sorry I can't help, unfortunately I had to cancel the holiday, so we didn't get there. I wanted to book them again this time, but it was out of my price range. I am sure that there will be no problems and I actually emailed the hotel directly and they answered any queries I had, so that may be an option. Hopefully someone will be able to answer this for you.

Hi has anyone stayed at the continental park recently, if so would like to know about the area around the hotel for bars etc and how far the walk into Alcudia would be. Also any recent info on the hotel would be really useful.
Near the hotel are large family bars like Cheers and The Swan as well as smaller places such as Posh Paddy and Smiths. As for restaurants, there is nothing that outstanding, but S'Albufera is quite good and Meson Los Patos, on the road going towards Palma, is exceptional but a bit pricey. The very good beach is just a short walk across the main road.
Hi can anyone please tell me if this hotel has been taken off sale with Thomson.? I have checked virtually every date for 08 and the hotel is not showing up at all, just seems a bit strange. Thanks
You might like to try the Condesa de la Bahia, which is not as far down as Playa de Muro, but is by a good strip of beach, and about 35 mins walk from the Port.
thanks chris

Hi we go on friday and have also read this report which wasnt very impressive. We have been in contact with Thomson who have advised us that the familyclub team are no longer in this hotel it is now just kidzone reps and the clubs have been reduced from 6 days a week to 5 a week. The rest of the entertainment is being run by the hotel which incudes anything going on in the evening. We were considering a transfer but as we only found out about these changes a week before the holiday we have decided to carry on as there wasnt much else available. At the same time i found out about the above a letter mysteriously appeared at the thomson branch confirming these changes so really you should have received one if you are travelling with thomson. I am hoping that they pull there act together and the problems will be sorted as this chap must have travelled at the begining of the season and maybe everything wasnt quite in place. If you do want to change and you have the letter the shouldnt charge you an admin fee and as they knew about the changes back in october they advised me that they would backdate any prices to then. Let me know if you need any more info. Thanks sharon.
Hi, we are going to this hotel in three weeks, and have also read several bad reports on this hotel. i have to say I am now getting rather worried. have you decided what to do?
Thanks sharon how long are you going for? Will you put a reply on when you get back! we are unsure what to do we go on the 22nd of june, but if thompson new in october we booked not long after and we only got a letter last friday so not happy as we have two children.
Have you had a letter from thompson?
or have you been in touch with thompson?
We go on the 22nd june and dont know if to change hotel as we have two children going with us?
We have booked all inclusive, with my parents and two children, this will be the first time i have taken my children abroad, so already feeling anxious about the trip, the comments i am reading on holiday watch dog etc are really not helping.
I do think though that people can expect too much sometimes, and like to moan about anything! so lets try and keep positive and look at all the good comments on the hotel.
To change the booking now, may be quite costly as they will charge admin fees on top of any additional hotel charge etc.
We are going for 2weeks so will let you know when we come back but it may be too late for u to change. I have looked at other local all inclusives but none with thomson really look any better than the Continental so u may be better just sticking with that. I have been on a few thomson holidays recently and the kids clubs have always been okay, you may get better reps at one hotel to another but with small kids they should just do the usual kiddie games etc, its the other entertainment and the all incusive features ie snacks and drinks that concern me as this hotel has only just turned to an all inclusive property for this season, but they do have a sister hotel in the resort next door already all inc so surely they must know what they are doing.!!!!. I think maybe because the hotel had been a superfamily previously and now isnt, the older reviews re entertainment have been very good so now its got to live upto that i suppose. Will let u know anyway. Thanks sharon
Just to let you know, that my parents have been into the travel Agents today to discuss our concerns and the lady that they saw, which they have known some time, advised them that she has a close friend who has two young children, who has just come back from Hotel Continental, and said she could not fault it! She had been several times before and said it was as good as ever......so lets stop worrying and start looking forward to our holidays.
Thats good to know, hopefully we will all have a fab time after all a holiday is what u make of it !!!!
we were on the verge of changing so glad we didnt, its a pity we are not all there at the same time? can you put a reply on when you get back to say if they do a kids mini disco as my girls love them? and how often the clubs are on? have a drink for us and have a great holiday.
thanks for all the help chris and familey
Will hopefully have many drinks after all this stress thanks!. Will let u know as soon as we return re all the entertainment clubs etc. Have just packed so now looking forward to a good hol. Sharon.
hi i have been looking for people who have recently stayed at the continental as we have booked for later this year, but we recently found out about the entertianment changes .the reason like you we bookedit because of the superfamily status.good for families.we have a 6 year old who loves the kiddies discos and things they do at the clubs i am disabled so cant get round to well so we look for somewhere that has a good entertianment rating and this come out one of the top for the price.i hpoe you have had a really good time as people work hard all year to pay for their one or two weeks away .look forward to reading what you think when you get back with thanks carolineb
I'm worrying a bit to because of the bad reviews, I also go on the 22nd June and had a letter this week about it no longer being a super family hotel, just hope the reviews are good from anyone else who come back from their hols there!!
