Hi, We normally stay at the Rui Adeje Aparthotel for our winter break. Whilst the hotels in the area are very up market you are within easy reach of numerous bars/restaurants. Just stroll along the seafront and there they are.
If you want something livelier, then its only a short bus ride into PDLA or Los Cr.
We had a lovely Chinese meal on the main street in Fanabe( where all the electronic shops are) and the Pantry which is just up the road from the bowling alley does really nice home cooking, you can watch him bake the food whilst sitting.
Best advice is give different places a try then pick your own favourite.

We stayed in this area last year and had a great time in fact we liked it so much we are hoping to go again this year. We found the accomodation quiet enough to get a sleep at night but a short walk away there was also plenty of bars and restaurants where you could have a good night out.

If you like an entertaining evening, the Moonlight bar has a lot of good acts and you can also take your drink to the bar across the way (can't remember it's name) but there were also good acts on there.

Most of the restaurants were ok for food but the chinese 'slowboat' was excellent, I have never tasted anything like it in any chinese I have visited before. The staff were fantastic, always willing to help.

We have two teenagers and they liked the area too, my daughter likes the nightclubs in PDLA and often walked there and got a taxi home. My son is much quieter and loved the walks up the rocks and round the corner to Del Duque beach area which seemed a little quieter but a beautiful place to stay.

I'm sure you will have a great time, in my opinion this area offers the best the best of both worlds.

Thanks. I'm going with my mum so not interested in PDLA. Did all that years ago! Were staying at the Jardines de Nivaria. Looks lovely, I can't wait. Thanks for all your help

The area is great, we have been going for ovr 10 years. Jardines de Nivaria is a beautiful hotel and I am sure you will have a great time. Lots to see and do, without being too rowdy. Depending on the food you like, there are lots of good restaurants. Engligh, Chinese, Steak etc, though not too many 'Spanish' restaurants nearby. I can recomend the Playa Nivaria at your hotel. It is sort of 'international' cuisine but well worth a visit. Good food and service.

Hello people, We are going to Costa Adeje in August and wondering if The Optomist bar is still open. We had a great time in there last June laughing with the singer(or not) and his renditions of Johnny Cash and Roy Orbisson among others.Has anyone else been and had the same fun times. The Optomist is near to the Castle looking resaraunt on the headland if that helps. Many thanks Andy. 8)

I'm booked to go to the Rui Adeje aparthotel next August, I stayed in the Sunwing Fanabe last May, can anyone tell me if these two apartments are near each other?

Thanks

Yes there both in Fanabe...

If you walk along London Street (the street that runs from the Sunwing entrance parallel to the sea toward Adeje) you will come to the Fanabe Costa Sur hotel. Opposite there is the Shopping Centre (with a Mercadonna). The Riu Adeje Aprathotel is next to it.

Its only a 3 to 5 minute walk.

Thanks Makum

I thought they must be in the same area

Hi Sinead,

We have just come back from there this week, we stayed at the Sheraton La Caleta, which was FAB and some of the restaurants were great.

One of our faves was the torres del mirador, part of the del duque complex but with great views of the sunset over the sea. It isn't cheap and the majority of the food is fish but don't let that put you off.

Also have a walk in to La Caleta, it's a lovely little village and properly spanish, we were looked after so well down there.

Have a nice time! :)

We have just returned from two weeks at the Bahia Princess Hotel in Costa Adeje which is excellent, most days we would go across to a place called Plaza Boulavard Cafe which is licensed and is brilliant, lovely and clean and nice staff. They do a wicked Tuna Salad they are massive and do big English Breakfasts. its inside the ccc (I think it stands for Central Commercial Centre or something like that), if you stand with your back to the Bahia Princess, turn left and then over the zebra crossing, to the end of the row of shops and turn right into where spar is, its in there.
Also a brilliant chinese called Royal Family brilliant value for money.
Hope this helps.

We have just recently returned from Tenerife - Sunwing - Fanabe Resort and it was first class I would recommend it to anyone.
It has to be the best holiday, Resort and accomodation we have ever had!
It had everything you need without having the need to leave the resort!
Their are Squash Courts (2 off), Games rooms, Kids play areas including the Lollo & Bernie's mini land club, large swim areas for all ages, pool tables, table tennis, water aerobics in the pool most mornings (Tues and Thurs apart) for the active people :D Their is Water Polo throughout the week also
Their is a Play Station 2 Room and the games can be hired from the very helpful Help Desk Staff.
Their is access to the internet for those that can't do without it like me, at 3 Euros per 30mins or 4 Euros for 60mins and more.
By the pool side you have the Pool Bar/ Pool Cafe as well as the La Tasca Kitchen & Bar which serves up a variety of meals etc and the service from the staff is first class. Food is available day and night upto 10pm.
As well as that you have the Fino Restaurant & Grill and the Poseidon Bar/Lime Bar which hosts resort shows throughout the week, the guys and girls who did the ABBA show were ace and is not too be missed!
The resort has its own Mini Market & Deli and it has everything you need.
I can't speak highly enough of the resort, and off course it is very committed to the environment, with Waste stations situated throughout the resort for recycling, encouraging reduction in water use by turning off taps when cleaning your teeth if you have any :D The towels are made from Environmentally grown cotton.
Outside the resort the beach is about a 5mins walk away and the water is first class but I'm not to keen on the black sand :) Oh and by the way take a pair off flip flops with you when you go towards the water from your sun loungers as the sand is really, really hot :!: Trust Me I know :D
Their are loads of water sports for those water buffs. Jet Ski's, Banana Boats, Speed Boats, and Para Gliding from the back of a speed boat.
Their are hundreds of shops, bars and restaurants along the beach front from Playa De Fanabe to Puerto Colon.
Excursions: The Aqua Park
Not to be missed, the kids and the bigger kids within us will love it and you must try the Boomerang Water Slide (but don't eat before you go on it :D ) and whilst your there DO NOT MISS THE DOLPHIN SHOW IT IS BRILL.
Loro Parque: It has every you could wish too see with Orca, Sea Lions, Dolphin and Parrot shows - None off which you should MISS!
It also houses the biggest Iceberg with the biggest population of penguins outside of the Antarctica FAB!.
To get to Loro Parque takes about 1.5hrs in a bus but its worth it!
The Medieval Show:
Wa voted the best excursion show and it was, food and drink included in the price.
The Freebird Excursion:
A Boat trip that allows you the opportunity to get up close to families of whales and dolphins and the food and drink in included in the price.
But it can play havoc with the stomach :D the bouncing of the boat thro the water :(
Well I think I have rambled on a bit but I really can't speak highly enough as you can tell off Tenerife, the resort, the staff, the parks we visited etc, etc.
So much so myself and my family have already booked a return holiday for next year to the same resort. Trust me its the Bees Knees! :D
A Scotsman never lies :) :)
Oh almost forgot the Holiday was made even better by the fact that Scotland beat France whilst we were there and England could only manage a draw against some big team. 8)

Hi

I have just been to Tenerife, staying in Adeje.

I stayed in the Roca Nivaria Gran Hotel, just down the coast, it was in a really rural are and had a few bars, but the best place for us was to drive up to Los Gigantes, we did this a couple of evenings and there are some great restaurants on the Harbour.

I would suggest getting a car and driving up into the Teide Park and then onto Santa Cruz or Puerto de la Cruz.

All in all a good holiday, got loads more info if you want, just ask. :)
Thanks
Anthony
