Hi, have to admit that I generally prefer hotels that attract mainly adults too. After a good many years as a youthworker and now teaching undergrad students I do prefer, shall we say, more mature companions
I see you've been tempted to book to go back earlier than planned? f you do get the chance while over in Varadero, the Vinales area is well worth the effort. An amazing landscape with rock features call Mogotes which are like giant Tunnocks tea cakes rising almost straight up from flat plains! In local slang they are compared to a certain part of the female anatomy There are also some very interesting cave systems at that end of the island. Pinar del Rio is worth a look too - a very lush landscape - as is Las Terazzas which is up in the hills. Enjoy

I will return to Cuba and I will go back to Santiago - however although the Melia Santiago was very nice and comfortable it was a bit stuffy for me (sunbeds fab tho !!). No idea what the rooms are like but the buzz at the Casa Grande was amazing so thats where I will stay next time. So understand why you love it and again thanks for all the advice , it helped planning so much

and it was'nt that lively !!

This is the area I visited when I went to Cuba in May, and have to agree!! It was absolutely fantastic, and well worth the drive from Habana
Next time I go to Cuba I want to go with you, SMa
This is a picture of the Vinales area that I took when touring Cuba in 2007
