Travel agents and tour operators are being warned that they could be sued by airlines if they're told a customer's flight has been cancelled more than two weeks before departure but delay passing the information on to the passenger.

Sometimes it is the airline itself which doesn't pass on the information on time. I had this once when I found out by accident that my flight no longer existed as the airline had pulled out of that city. When I phoned to complain I was told they were informing those who flights were nearest to departure time. But my flight was pulled about 4 months before!
