I am going cruising next year, from San Francisco to Sydney via Polynesia and New Zealand. I had thought I would be buying souvenirs of the places I visit, sort of ethnic stuff! Reading on here, it has now occurred to me that I could have major problems when we disembark at Sydney, and that stuff could be confiscated I am staying in Sydney a couple of days, then going to Perth to visit relations, before flying home.

Any advice on what I should do? Is New Zealand as strict, or could I post stuff home to myself, before I actually reach Australia??
