We went in March, had no rain or humidity at all, March isn`t the hottest month but it`s the driest, average temp was about 82 degrees.

June July tend to be the hottest, but also the highest humidity, with a certain ammount of rain as well.

we always go in june yes you do get heavy downpours but these don`t last long and are usually in an evening, however the humidity can be high but not as high as other places i have been to in the caribbean in june.

As with most of the Caribbean region, Cuba is subject to uncertain weather between May and November (aka hurrican season). December through to April is much more settled. I normally have my Caribbean holiday in March and the weather is always nice. I've visitied Cuba on 2 occasions in March, and the weather has been nothing other than scorchio! March, on average is a few degrees cooler than july/august, but the humidity is generally lower.

Hi Bankhead,

Cuba is a large island and different parts of the island experience different weather conditions. So to get an accurqate picture you need to look specifically at the particular resorts you have in mind. I've been in both July/August and March staying each time in both Santiago (in the southeast of the island) and Havana (in the northwest) and Santiago was both hotter and more humid than Havana every time. In fact in March of this year the temperature was up in the 30s in Santiago and and it was nearly 10degrees cooler in Havana. My Spanish teacher even pointed out that in Havana 'it could get really cold in winter - as low as 22C!' Not what we would consider cold at home but probably a lot colder than what you'd be looking for in a Caribbean holiday in winter!

We are looking for ideas for next year and Cuba has come up in our discussions but hubby's holidays are in October and I'm just aware that it will still be in hurricane season. We've been to Mexico a few years ago in October and had mostly very good weather with 2 or 3 rain showers in the 2 weeks we spent there. Would I be correct in assuming that Cuba would be very much the same?

We're not great beach bums so ideally we'd be touring around a bit but before I get into too much detail looking I'd appreciate it if anyone who has been in October could tell us how they found the weather. I don't mind the odd shower but don't want it to be a wash out as it's our main holiday so if you think it would be a waste of time, please tell me honestly.

Thanks
