This forum is just as friendly as the Goa one
Ann - that sounds an ideal location. I suppose it wasnt an 18 - 30's hotel?
We are wanting to stay away from those you see.
Could you give me a bit more information regarding it?
I was thinking of DIY, booking flights and somewhere to stay seperetly, will this work out cheaper?
We want to get things booked in the next couple of months and do not fancy leaving it until 2 weeks before departure like we did when we went to Goa a few weeks ago.
The cheapest prices i have found for staying in Ayai Napa are 450pounds per person for 7 nights in a 2 star 18 to 30's apartment, but we are having trouble finding a hotel or apartment in close proximity to the beach and nightlife which ISNT an 18 to 30's .
We stayed on a B&B basis, breakfast overlooking the gardens and sea was really beautiful. We walked into Ayia Napa every evening so I can't vouch for the entertainment (if any). I e-mailed the hotel prior to arriving and asked if they could upgrade us and we were given a room overlooking the pool and out onto the beach. I can't remember how much it was but it was worth every penny.
We booked through Thomson, which worked out cheaper than a DIY from Scotland.
We would love to go back but we never go back to the same hotel twice. I hope this helps.
is this including flights?Ayai Napa are 450pounds per person for 7 nights in a 2 star 18 to 30's apartment
Travel Republic have the Grecian Sands at £707.56 for 2 people B&B This is for the week 7th -14th Sept. There's a lot cheaper ones showing. Limanaki Beach Hotel (Listed as their number 1 customer favourite) comes in at £340.68 per room B&B. The cheapest is the Paloma apartments at £169.41 per room.
Have a browse on their site http://www.travelrepublic.co.uk put in the code GETSOMESUN for the discount
I've just done a flight and accommodation search for my cousin you have to be careful with the flight times to Cyprus as they can be a bit poop ie late departure etc. Which airport will you be flying from?
Ann, thanks for the info .
I have been to Aiya Napa (4 times), Paphos (once) and Protaras (once) and I have to say that my fav is Ayia Napa Hands Down
I think yuo are best lookin at the Tasia Maris - we stayed here 3 years ago and loved it - its walking distance to the nightlife of aiya napa (calling in a few bars on the way) or a short taxi ride - its adults only and a lovely hotel - you will find a lot of people who go there return year after year.
We stayed in protaras last september and i wasnt that impressed - we ended up going to ayia napa for a night and said if we were to go back it would be back to Ayia Napa - we like staying in nice hotels and if i had the choice it would the Tasia Maris or the Napa Plaza (which is smack bang in Ayia Napa)
Hope you find something and you will love Cyprus its a gorgeous island

Only problem we have got now is price.
This isnt going to be our major holiday for the year, as we have just come back from Goa and that was our major holiday.
But the prices for Cyprus for a week are currently what we paid for Goa for 2 weeks, and Goa is long haul.
I have been researching other destinations, we really do not want to go to the Spanisg Islands, but they are half the price of Cyprus.
Also Rhodes are coming out with good deals.
We are going to have another look tonight, but i dont think i am prepared to pay 450 pounds per person for a week when i paid the same amount for a long haul destination for an extra week.
we got a deal not september gone the one before for an apt and it was still 300 quid each and the apt was really basic
we do like a nicer hotel - we are not snobbs by any means but a little luxury goes a long way
we were in an apartment last september (only reason because my dad was with us) and it was guna cost him a fortune for a room only for one so we opted for the one bedroom apartment so we could all share it - was ok
i know what your saying - we paid 2,000 for an all inclusive holiday to mexico and that was definitely value for money - u cant really say u can get a cheapy to cyprus unless you are really lucky
Any questions feel free - i love cyprus and even though its not cheap it draws me back we love it - the people are soo friendly and the beaches are gorgeuos
sorry for going on ha ha
Jo
If you are not fixed to a Hotel, you can find great deals with self catering apartments.
I have just found a flight for September, 1 week for under £150.00 each.
Accommodation for 2 should not set you back more than £300 for a week making a holiday costing £600.00 between two.
What you spend on food, drink and a good time is up to you.
Good Luck
Stewart
I know what you mean regarding having a tiny bit of luxury, we are Goa regulars, and stay in 1-2 star hotels, but we want a bit more than that on our summer trip this year.
I think i may bite the bullet and pay around 450 each.
We need to get it booked asap because my parents need to know the exact date so they can book time off work because they work night shifts, so they need to be off to watch my little lad.
Stewart, that sounds like an excellent deal, where did you find the flight from?
Also, how much are taxis from the airport to Ayai Napa? and are they readily available?
Thanks again
Nicola
Flights are from Easy Jet.
They are from Manchester but land in Paphos, a 90 min drive to Ayia Napa.
Good Luck

I've been to Napa plenty of times in September and it's still very hot, when people mention rain, take that as maybe lasting 20 minutes at the most then the sun will be out and dried in no time

You can certainly do it cheaper DIY than a package IMO. I've been going to Napa for 23 years and always done DIY bar 2 holidays. If you want a package try Olympic Holidays....they have discounts at the moment too
To give you an idea on DIY price I'm going to Napa in June for 10 nights, flights were £130 with Monarch and we're staying at the Napa Plaza (big thumbs up for this hotel) We're paying £234 each for B&B for the 10 nights. We're hiring a car as I've sussed by the time you pay the return taxi fare you can have a car for a week or slightly more for a few pounds more
So total without transfers for us will be 10 nights B&B £364, therefore I'm certain you could do it for less for 7 nights in September. I'll be back in September too for a week and don't expect to pay more than £300 each.

Have a look at the area of Pernera - perfect. 10 minute stroll out of Protaras, 15 minute drive or bus to Ayia Napa. The Domniki Hotel/Apartments (Olympic holidays) are right on the sea front far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet at nice but close enough to all bars and restaurants.
Sounds like Paradise Gardens in Paphos would suit you well. There are 4 Paradise Gardens complexes with apartments and villas for rent. They are situated about 10 minutes from Bar Street in Kato Paphos, so you won't hear the noise, yet they are easy walking distance. I've not been to Cyprus in September, but my mum has been 4 times and she says the weather is always excellent. I thought October was the month for heavy rain storms. I went to Paphos first week of December 2007 and the rain was bucketing down!
