Hi
Still got the Turkey bug after being back for over 3 weeks, made worse by the fact that today is my first day back at work.
I've been looking at flights and have found some that look fairly cheap for December and March.
Can anyone tell me:
what the weather is like during December or March in Marmaris?
Is it mainly open?
Any suggestions for nice appartments? (ideas of price would be good too).
Thanks in advance.
Hiya,
The place practically shuts down at the end of october. Most of the guys from the shops/bars live miles away and move home for winter. Its pretty cold too. I think it opens back up at the end of april.
love nikki xx

i have been both dec and march a few times, both are cold at night but you can get some nice sunny days. the old part of marmaris is open, so there are some bars ,restaurants and plenty of shops etc still open that end of marmaris. weather in dec was around 15-19 most days and march was warmer about 18-22 whilst we were there the last 2 yrs, easter week we did manage to sun bathe about 3-4 days out of the week but only for about 3-4 hrs mid day, we have booked to go march easter week as i found some cheap flights with aegean flights, its certainly better weather than the uk and i personally prefer marmaris out of season
there are limited hotels open in the winter, we have not booked yet as my mother lives there so might stay with her , but i have had a look and could find 4 hotels open for march on accommodation only sites

Thanks for the reply, I figured it might be better weather than here!
Sounds like it might be a good relaxing holiday, just what I'll need at the end of term.

just be prepared for all weather, like i said you can get some sun bathing days but also some rain and cooler weather, you will need a winter coat in dec as it does get very cold at night. good luck ,are you thinking more for dec or march, we are going 22nd march for a week. travel republic using promo code cardstudent was one of the cheapest accommodation sites i could fine
I think March as Easter holidays from work then and not so busy with family things. Looks like it would be fly from Birmingham on 22nd March. Not too much bothered that the weather might be a bit up & down, just away and having that "I'm home" feeling every time I go would be enough.
Thanks for the link, I'll have a look at that site.

wow you will be on my flight lol, we have booked aegean flights from birmingham 124 each for a week was the same price for 2 wks but due to amount of hols we have hubby didnt want to go for 2 wks lol, we got 5 booked at the mo, think i need some councelling !!! lol
Yeah that's the one, think I might take the two weeks option.
