Hi Fiona

I have looked at the RENFE site for a journey we are making to Tossa De Mar.

Using line C1 from the airport trains run every 30 minutes at 13 and 43 minutes past each hour from 06:13 to 20:43 then 21:21 and 22:02 it is a 13 minute journey to Sants.
Still using line C1 (usually the same platform at Sants) there is a 16 minute wait for the train to Blanes leaving at 13 and 43 minutes past each hour from 06:43 until 20:43 then 21:24, 21:58 and 22:33 it is approx 1hr 20 minutes to BLanes.

There is also a regular 15 minute bus service but seems pointless if your are going onward by train to Blanes.

Hi, Just a helpful point, when you get off at Sants station from the airport you stay on the same platform for your next train to Blanes, look up at the monitors for the time. :D

You can actually stay on the airport train and change at Mataro(think it is about 10 stops from Sants) which is a lot quieter than Sants and the Blanes train is usually about 10 minutes later.
If you do this on the way back to the airport it means you will have a seat etc before everybody gets on in Barcelona.

Hi

Just back from Tossa travelled to & from Airport via Blanes.

Outward journey I decided to change at Sants, as Mataro usually means a change of platform up and down stairs with luggage, station of course was very busy at that time, train was delayed on approch to Sants and we had to change platforms although we did get seats. The later train meant we lost our bus connection and we had to take a taxi from Lloret to Tossa.

On the return journey we changed at Mataro, I noticed that there is a lift for the diabled. But I was unsure about using same and carried luggage up and down stairs, a big mistake at my time of life.

As Andeajr pointed out at Mataro you have a choice of seats as the train originates there.
