DIY holiday to Callella

Hello everyone. Not been on here for sometime but it's where I turn to everytime I need Costa Brava advice!
I am booking a DIY holiday to Callella for Summer 09 and have found some cheapish flights to Barcelona.
First question: How easy is it to get to Callella from Barcalona airport?
Secondly: Which website is best for booking a hotel or apartments? I'v had a quick look on low cost beds but I didn't think it was particularly low cost!

getting from barcelona airport to calella is relatively easy, and cheap, by train. you only need to change at santes station. have a look here for more info.

as well as alpharooms, i have used http://www.findmeaccom.com/ who have given me some great deals.
last time i used http://www.xcapewithus.com/ and got a super deal in december.

I've booked to go to Blanes in May with www travelrepublic co uk, they seem to have some good prices on most Costa Brava resorts. Also, you may want to consider flights to Girona/Gerona.

We hired a car from Barcelona (as opposed to Gerona) airport last summer.

As there were 5 of us it worked out around £30 each for the week. Less than an hours drive from the Airport to Calella and you would have the car to get out and about for the week ?
