I make absolutely all the decisions. I love researching on HT. Its my favourite pastime . Hubby thinks i should get a life. He is not in the slightest bit interested in where ive booked.. In fact he gets quite angry that I book so much, but i take no notice and know he loves every one of our holidays and breaks as much as i do . I usually get over excited when ive booked somewhere and try to get him and the boys interested by showing pictures of where we are going on the internet but unfortunately im on my own and surrounded by males that are just not interested until we are going
the dates when we can go are normally fixed to a certain extent as Mrs Imp works at a school
my son also tells me to get a life as he says all I ever do is sit at my laptop researching destinations for holidays. My husband says that I do too much research and that it would be nice to actually discover some things after we've arrived there. He tells friends that I even know the names of the waiters before I get there (though I'm not that bad, Honestly!)
I do find it an anti-climax shortly after I've booked and found out everything I need to know. It's "what can I do now?" until next year's holidays are for sale.
My ideal sunny afternoon at home is spent with my sister in the garden armed with all the latest brochures, a biro and of course the obligatory glass (or two) of wine. Bliss
Mum and I do the Caribbean every year, usually I get a budget given and go back with ideas but Mum has been known to make suggestions, bless her, that are just not realistic for her with her limited mobility, I then refuse to book the hotel with a thousand stairs so then we argue. She does give in eventually and we get booked with me doing it all.
Mr P has to be coaxed into what he wants to do each year and it usually ends up being too expensive so I find a compromise but still do all the research and booking which I really enjoy although I always worry just in case its a disaster (never has been so far )
I usually decide where I would like to go, do all the research and planning, then work on other half until he thinks it was his idea to go to X Y or Z.
Its part of the fun of it all for me, just like the shopping for suncream/holiday clothes etc!
Work hard all year so love the run up to the holiday even with the research work involved
