I dont know about the price now its a few years since i did it but it was always cheaper to book with the local travel agents in Rhodes they advertise in lots of places just have a walk round

I agree with that. If you go around the back of the shopping area and head up the hill into the town, there are a couple of t/a's just up from the bus stops on the opposite side of the road. They were advertising cheaper ferries to all places cheaper than the desk sales on the harbour.

Does anyone know where do you get the ferry from in Rhodes to go to Marmaris and how long does it take?

The ferry leaves from Mandraki Harbour in Rhodes town and take 2 hours at the most.

It took 1 hour and 20 minutes when I travelled with the ferry now i august... we bought ticket in Rhodes and in Marmaris when we should go home again. but look around in Marmaris in the harbour-many places sell tickets but the price is different

I think people will be a bit confused:
1) There are different ferries runing from Rhodes to Marmaris(also Bodrum) - Fast catamarans/hydrofoils and slower conventional ferries. These will have different prices, faster ones are pricier. Some displayed prices may not include various extra charges, and may be one way prices.
2) They may depart from different points in Rhodes, normally it is the commercial quay, quite a long walk from Mandraki harbour, check with the ticket agent.
3) There are various travel agents in the vicinity of the new market building/bus stations that sell tickets.
