Hi, im going to the dominican republic over new year, (Cabarrette) to do some kit surfing. Its the first time ive been and I am booked into a bed and breakfast only resort.
A couple of questions, what currency should i take, dollars or paeso?
Will i find it difficult to find somewhere, something to eat as i am basically self catering?
What is the security like, I am quite independent and like the thought of being able to go into the town on a night?, i read different opinions on an number of sites ranging from 'its safe to to go out at night' to ' always stay within the complex', so im not sure what is right.
thanks for any advice
Hi lukey, i can only advise on the currency, take pesos for spending money, dollars for entrance and exit taxes and dollars or t/c for any trips you may take. as regards the other stuff take a look at debbies dominican website, you will find much more useful/detailed info. ita website dedicated to dom rep.
anyone going getting any us dollars yet as the rate is really good
you need dollars for your visa entry and departure tax (30 $ per passenger for both)
Just been back a week i would say take dollars and change them into pesos if you need them when your there as you can not cash in pesos in the country. they will give you the price in pesos and dollars if you ask them to.
