I dont quite understand the village room allocation. Seems like you can be put way up the back where its unlit at night or on the front with not many steps. What do you think the chances are of changing room if you cant manage the steps, my husband walks unsteadily with a stick, I am fighting fit so it wouldnt bother me.
If we take a travel kettle will we blow all the lights and are the plugs the standard european 2 pin.
Update on the restaurants and what the food is like this year. Any food poisening around?
We would like all your tips on the do's and dont's.
Any Mozzies around at this time of year?
When people say it rains and storms, is that all day or just for bursts of about 15 mins. Are we talking brollys on the beach and in our bum bags.
Local buses and laid on buses to places like Sunny Beach etc. Last buses home times.
I cant believe some of the awfull write ups last year, we are all looking forward to going and just want to be prepared when we get there.
Just let us know anything and everything. It would really be a great help.
Best Regards Jo
There were buses that ran to SB but we just used taxis I'm afraid so unsure of bus times etc.
Sorry couldn't be of more help but sure someone else will be along soon.
Hi,We stayed in the villas at Elenite last year, the rooms are quite widespread and yes some are at the back with numerous steps to climb,my son is partially disabled and we asked for a room nearer the beach and we were lucky enough to be allocated such a room, this meant we only had one flight of steps to climb, which was not too bad. However there are steps all around this resort including up to the restaurant, shops etc.We had no problems with the food.We did have a number of days when it rained and a couple of very heavy storms during the evening which knocked out the power.Overall the holiday was fine,i would suggest you specify that you want a room close to the beach to avoid too many steps.Have a great holiday
We are thinking of booking to go here for a week in July after been let down by Portland over the Majestic. This is really cheap with First choice and I wanted to know the difference between staying here and at the Royal Park. It is £100 more expensive to stay at one of the others so wanted to know whether the extra facilities are worth paying this. Can you use the other hotels facilities if you are staying in the bungalows? We would like to use their swimming pool if we can and also can we use their restaurant. Hope somebody can help.
Thanks
Hi , when are you thinking of going , we fly out 15th July from birmingham . I too have lots of questions about the village . Maybe someone can let us know what it is like when we get back . I am sure I have read somewhere that last year the people in the village couldnt use the hotels facilities but people in the hotel could use the village facilities . Hopefully I have got that wrong , but if not that they have changed things for this year.
Hi
More reviews here (from last year, but may help with your questions)....
Fingers crossed we won't regret it
hi we are flying out next monday for a fortnight staying at the royal park we are going with an open mind but i will let you all know what its really like when we get back caz
Hope you have a great time!
Hi,We stayed at the Elenite Villas last year and you are right in thinking that you cannot use any of the facilities at either of the other two hotels ie Royal Bay or Royal Park.Infact they were very strict on this ,while we were at the villas our swimming pool was shut for a few days and although the rep negotiated that we could use the other pools for those days we could not get a drink from the bars so had to keep trudging all the way back to the villa bar for a drink, they wouldnot even serve the kids a coke. However if you are staying in either of the hotels you can use the villa facilities aswell as your own hotel.
hi sianna will see whats going on and how much no problem and no matter what we find we are determined to have a good time
Have Fun!!
Hi Sianna, the bar in the elenite village is open until midnight and you can also use the bar in the entertainment hall until then aswell.Be aware that you cant use the pools belonging to the Royal bay/Royal Park and that when we went the elenite pool was freezing.Have a great holiday.
Was the entertainment rubbish? We are hoping the entertainment is good during the day with organised sports. At night time if it is really bad we will go to SB.
Thanks!
The entertainment was mainly aimed at the kids,we generally stayed in the bar area and chatted with other guests, played pool etc.The daytime activities are ok,the team organise volley ball on the beach ,games in and around the pool area etc, good for a laugh.
the beach is great beer is good. food is a bit hit and miss but usally found something to get us by.the taxi fare to sunny beach is 20 levs about £7 but if you catch the bus its less than 2 levs per person .the airport on our return was terrible we had to que over 1 hr just to get rid of the suitcases
and then 1/2 hr to get past passport control.on a good point they dont seem to care how much your bags weigh. but at gatwick we were 4kilos over weight and had to pay £16 .so watch out.this was our first visit to bulgaria and feel that they still have some way to go to cater for us brits.we think we would return there but its not in our top 5 places to revisit ;any questions just fire away
alan-jill southampton
glad to hear you had an ok time there . I have got a few questions , you said about the food being a bit hit and miss , was this in the hotel or in the village ? Can you really see dolphins if you look out first thing or of an evening ? Is there a boat trip to Nessebar ? Do the staff in the village speak much english? You did say if anyone had any questions to ask !!
Is anyone else going to the village on 15th July ?
thanks
Chris and Natalie
We're going to Elenite on the 18th July - staying in the Royal Park, but with our monsters running around, you'll likely hear us before you see us !!
