Hi, Es Forti has a fair number of shops and good restaurants plus a fair sized supermarket; it is possible to walk to Cala D'or centre and although its a very nice walk around the marina you would be looking at probably 45 minutes in total, a better bet would be either the train ( not really a train but a cheap tram/tractor type tourist vehicle) that goes between the different areas around Cala D'or or just take a taxi which last time I used it was 5 euro each way.

I'd thoroughly recommend Es Forti its really nice area with good facilities and location wise ideal for trying other parts as well. If you want any other info drop me a PM and I'll be happy to chat.

Es Forti is the name of a part of Cala Egos which is near the old fort - hence it is called Es Forti. It is the area of Cala Egos which has some of the nicest and most expensive villas, most or many of which have wonderful sea views. It is about 5 mins walk from Cala Egos, which is a sattelite resort of Cala Dor and which has some shops and a supermarket or two. It also has a few nice restaurants. It is a lovely walk around the marina into Cala Dor, and we do it some nights in the summer - stopping on the way for a nice drink or two overlooking the marina. There are some of the nicest restaurants in the area located on the marina which is only about 20 mins walk from Es Forti
Overall, I would say you will be very happy with the location - excellent choice!

Agree with above - we stayed in an apartment (part of a villa) in October 2006. Fantastic sea views.

This is a lovely quiet area - with expensive villas dotted along the coastline. As said before Cala Egos is only 5 minutes walk away and will have most of the shops you need.

We loved it there - and would not hesitate to go back!
