Having just spent a week in Luxor please can I recommend a lovely bar/restaurant called Esquires (was known as Pub2000 previously so tell that to taxi drivers) The restaurant part is at the front and can be a bit quiet but at the back is the pub part where the bar meals are excellent (steak with pepper sauce for around £3.50!) as is the atmosphere. This is british owned and British managed by Laura.

Can't quite remember the street it's on (but in central location) but there are quite a few advertisement banners hung up around Luxor so look out for them!!
