As far as I know there has been no firm decision about EHIC after Brexit, apart from those who are aleady living in an EU country when the split happens.
Before we joined the EEC (as it was), the UK had reciprocal health agreements with many European nations. We still maintain bilateral deals with 16 countries, such as Australia, New Zealand and the former Yugoslavian republics of Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia.
It is likely that a similar range of deals could/ would be concluded with some or all of the EU members, and there is absolutely no reason why we cannot negotiate with the individual countries.

I think ours expire this year. I must check.
Mine's up in April but applied for a new one last week ( tried before Christmas & advised too early). Wanted to renew before I forgot 😂
Arrived today. Mine's 2023 also.
Our are automatically sent here, I'm sure I would forget otherwise.
That's handy Judith 👍
I made my Dad renew his - it came very quickly.
