Hi,
Off to Playa on 11 Jan to celebrate hubby's 40th, 8 of us in total aged between 2 and 68
We're all staying in/around the Palm Beach Club so I'm looking for recommendations for places to go, preferably within easy walking distance. I'm looking for a nice restaurant that serves good fillet steak - don't mind paying a bit extra if it's good quality - and a bar/entertainment venue that serves Kilkenny (or similar) that would allow a relatively well-behaved youngster kept under close supervision!
Last year we went to an Irish bar opposite Starco(? Yates etc) which was good but that was as far as we ventured as I wasn't able to walk very far (long story.)
Any ideas? Looking forward to your expert advice!
Thanks in advance
Callie.
If you are staying in Palm Beach Club. keep a watchful eye out for Resort Properties.
Yates is an english bar.
Mr Parsons - yes, that could be the one, opposite Yates's and the like. Good beer but we're hoping to explore a little further this year.
Do you think we'll find somewhere suitable within strolling distance? Or do we need to travel a bit further afield?
TIA!
Try the patch area further along from Starcos (linekers etc) theres 3 Irish bars all linked together - you have the Gaelic Corner upstairs which has seating outside - then downstairs you have the Dubliner and Shenangans - all 3 have bands on - can defo recommend the Dubliner its ace in there - also in that area a few more bars kicking around although these are the 3 i'd point out - especi since you mentioned in post you'd been to Irish bar in Las Americas (these are defo better than that one)
From the irish bar you went to last time these bars are about a 10 min stroll on a straight road along as though you are heading toward Los Christianos.
Thanks scalder - sounds perfect! Will definately check out the Dubliner
Just came back after spending new year in PDLA and after reading loads of reviews of restaurants before I went, the best one for value/quality by far was the Montana which is just past the patch on the right hand side as you will be coming from Palm Beach Club. If you do go down to the Patch area as all the 3 Irish bars mentioned are good dont miss out on a great meal in the Montana. It is facing the Central shopping centre with the fountains outside.
Oh my favourite place in tenerife palm beach i'll be there for easter.
If you would like somewhere nice to go for your 40th, why not go for a nice meal at mama rossas, i spent my 40th 2 years ago in there. The food is fantastic, a little bit more expensive than most restaurants but excellent.
then we went on to the anchor bar, opposit the hotel colombus.
The greek below palm beach is good as well.
As is mollys which is on the walkway behind veronicas.
If you come out of palm beach and walk up the road at the back towards the caribe hotel, at the back there is a strip of 3 or 4 restaurants, one is called majuna (someting like that)
we have ate in them all and all are excellent.
have you been to the drop inn over the road from palm beach it is good.
there are hundreds of bars you could try, i could go on for every.
enjoy your holiday
Thanks stana and wickedchris - I think we'll have a busy week! We like the Chinese in Las Floritas for a cheap and cheerful so we'll go there first night then go looking for your recommmeded venues!
