Enjoy your dinner Wizard,
BTW , I see that you are a Kentish man in exile, that means you were born in Kent , which makes you Kentish ? Whereas if you born elsewhere and lived in Kent you are a Man of Kent ?? Is this correct , I've only lived in Kent the last 30+ years and im still not sure!!!!
On topic, Worrying times for the euro zone and us included. Just got to hope that things become more steady everywhere
But I always thought that whether you were a Man of Kent or a Kentish Man depended on which side of the Medway you were born but I can't for the life of me remember which way side makes you what! I just remember a good friend trying to explain it to me years ago when we were both students - in Kent as it happens. Even though we were both living in Kent I was neither of them because I hadn't been born there. And of course I'm female but so is she and it didn't seem to make that much difference to her - she was most proud of being whichever one she was
Sorry it's off topic , I hope Wizard can remember!!
Have split this from the : Beware Greek euros, travel company warns thread.
I was born in Kent but not a Man

No problems Andy I know myself how easy it is

if you were borne west of the Medway when-came the time to fight for your country you would join the Royal West Kent Rifles and were given an Enfield 303 to fight with
if you were borne east of the Medway you joined the East Kent yeomanry .....
and had to take your own pitchfork
Wizz that made me laugh - I like your version better
Hope your holiday is going well Wizard , and good to know the difference now , for an awful moment I thought you might b from Planet Thanet
this is a very old map of kent not very clear but look at the area north of the Thames between Averly and the Ise of Dogs, this area was part of kent for century's
the weekend was a nice break weather held out for our camping although it was quite windy where we went, fishing was hard but managed to pull out a few nice roach and some chubb, river was cold and running too fast to stick fish and had difficulty with the leger holding bottom [my biggest bomb was 7/8 oz]
