it only took us about 40-50 mins with a private transfer from dalaman to fethiye, if youre on a coach trip stopping at hotels on route it will take longer, but its only about 30 miles away

you have been given great advice as for the shave look for a barbers that the locals use this is always a good sign
as for eating there are some great places to eat in the old town i.e the duck pond,megri. ect fish market where you pick your fish and have it cooked at a restaurant for a small price this is great or along the lovely harbour/marina
then you have the main tourist resorts of calis,hisaronu, ovacik,and oludeniz
also great excursions are avalible at most local travel/tour agents

I always go to Ozay barbers in Fethiye. if you find the duck pond restaurant then walk in a straight line as if away from Fethiye centre, it's about 5 minutes up the road on the left-hand side (opposite a cafe where lots of locals play backgammon outside). They don't speak much English but it's authentic and they'll make you welcome. The shave is amazing and the back and arm massage come with it - enjoy!
