I have some questions before i book this hotel if anyone can help! Its a group of 8 girls.
The block pass you can buy from the reps for clubs, does anyone know whats included and how much it costs for the week?
When checking in, do we have to put any kind of deposits down? Are they refundable deposits if so?
thats all i can think of for now
thanks
We went to the Fiesta Magamar which is quite close to the Jungla and was a freestyle property and we had to pay a deposit (even though we were all girls!!!) so I would expect that you would need to pay..can't remember how much it was now, might be worth giving the apartments a quick call or speak to agent.
We didn't do any of the rep things as from my memory were quite expensive!!
You'll have a brill time though!!
What time of year are you going Becca? The Jungla closes this week, and doesn't re-open until April or May, so it's obviously next year. I seem to remember it's about 250 euros for the week, and they tell you there is something on every night, including two nights of free bars. Those two nights are BCM (maximum cost if you book direct is 30 euros) and Pirates (about 50 euros), so you are paying 170 euros to be herded around Magalluf like Sheep, being taken to the Bars of their choice where any drinks offers are removed while you are there, because they know they have a "captive" audience. It's a complete rip-off and it's totally illegal, and Tui have been denounced for it, but it doesn't seem to stop them.
One other thing I noticed was that although the P Rs have been been banned, they now stand inside there bars and act as barmen as well as P Rs and even wave at the police, have you also noticed this?
Dave.
thanks for your repsonses! Dont think we'll be bothering with that pass now!
I know what you mean. We've not done that, even though we had a PR last year, we saw a big downturn in trade in March, then April to August was down about 15% on last year, but September and October we are actually well up on last years figures, as well as saving the cost of a PR.
It's hit the biggest bars hardest, and some have had a really bad year, and I think there will be a few casualties over the winter months!
I don't have a problem with Waiters stood on their own terrace, even though we have never done that, and I'm not sure that anyone can stop you standing on your own terrace, and talking to passing people, it's always been a tradition in Spain for waiters to greet people as they arrive, and it would be very difficult for the Police or Calvia Council to prosecute anyone.
I'm still not sure that the Police & Calvia are trying hard enough to get rid of Timeshare Reps (or whatever they call themselves). I witnessed the same Timeshare Reps getting ticketed by the Poilce 4 or 5 times a day, and since the Employers are based offshore, these fines are never paid. The easy way would be to lock these parasites up for a few days, then deport them. Everytime I see them on the street corners I think about the next poor mug who is about to be fleeced. Talk about daylight robbery!
