I apologise before writing this post this it may not make sense, and i dont normally come into this forum as i dont go to spain much, but....
My Mum had a text by my Aunty that is going to Costa del Sol in July 2007 and said that BA are asking for finger prints and iris's photographed etc when you get into the airport. She found out this information from BA.com.
My mum isn't travelling with BA, but wonders if all airlines are taking this approach?
Sorry if this is old news, but mum asked me to write the post on here.

I can't find anything on the BA site about fingerprints but they do have an announcement that from 13 June the Spanish Authorities are requesting the following info. from the airline about all travellers to Spain.
Full names
Surname
Nationality
Date of Birth
Passport number
Pretty much the same as when you travel to the USA. I expect other airlines will follow on.
