As I understand, most of the fires are in Peloponese and Evia island near Athens far from Halkidiki.

we are off to chalkadiki at the end of September, i have been watching and reading up on developments almost daily, there have been some small fires in central Macedonia but not apparently serious, the main action is in the southern Peloponnese south and east of Athens,
