Hello there all, thanks for reading this. As I said I am going to Turkey for the first time. My wife and myself are traveling to Icmeler on Good Friday, April 10th. We are staying at the Marti la Perla A/I, but we will be having a look around and not staying in the hotel. Any advice on good bars etc would be very welcome but my reason for posting is to find out if there is a day trip or excursion that will show us the area.
Thank you in advance for your reply
If you scroll back through this Forum to Discussion on Icmeler Topic, the last post was on April 22nd, 2008, this will provide you with all the information you need. From previous experience I recommend doing the Truck Safari if it is operating when you are there, it may be a bit early in the season for it.
Icmeler is compact and the main centre has around 6 main streets, plenty of restaurants and shops. The old village is around 15 minute walk away and has more shops restaurants.
Good way to get around is dolmus, which is a mini bus. Just stick out your hand and it stops. Its cheap and has a very regular service. Places to go include Marmaris about 15 minutes away and Turunc about 20 minutes away. You can also get a water taxi between Icmeler and both places which is lovely. Last years prices were 7.5 lira one way

Thanks Stewart and Les. Very quick replies and very informative, I'll check the forum you mentioned Les, cheers.
toon-coyote, The majority of premises wont be open in Icmeler, One I know that will definately be open is called 3 bells on the main street, Should you go into Marmaris catch the Dolmus orange and creamy white on the same side of the street when you leave The Marti take that bus until you see the Attaturk statue which is down by the marina you will know where to depart the dolmus as it turns at a small roundabout (the only roundabout)and turns left at it, follow all the boats down and you will come to all the restauraunts down by the marina here you will have loads of choice's.
Florida and Three Bells stay open all year,I have been to both of them and they are excellent.Three Bells have their own website.
Have a lovely time. Marti La Perla looks a nice hotel, I have stayed in the sister hotel Marti Resort a couple of times,
