We are off to Madeira for the first time in September.
I'm looking forward to it being a different place.
We are staying at the
Ocean Park Vacation club ,
Ocean Park Promernade,
Funchal.
As you can imagine this means nothing to us never being there before.
What I need is any info about the place things to do and see.
We are a middle aged couple fit and healthy , we like to see the place we are staying at not beach people everyday although we like the sun and relaxing as well.
I love to take loads of photos of nice things and places.
We can hire a car if needed.
We like boat trips.
Wildlife
Sightseeing
Wine tasting.
All the usual
Not keen about shopping on holiday or busy towns.
Any info please.
Hi, just returned from Madeira, having been for last 4 years running. There is plenty to see and do in Madeira, from Cable Cars and Toboggan rides to gardens and levada walks. If you enjoy boats, then a trip on the catamaran to see dolphins/whales is a must. Blandys Wine Lodge in Funchal is also worth a visit for wine tasting. There are also many fantastic restaurants on Madeira, people are extremely friendly and I can not recommend the island more highly.
I'm looking forward to it.
Everyone as said how lovely and how pretty the island is.
Blandys the Dolphins and the cable cars sound just right.
I was told about the taboggan run, not to be missed so they say.
I'll look them up and find out exactly were they are.
Many thanks.
I'd get a car if you can. Three days will enable you to see most of the main attractions including the mountains Pico do Arieiro and Pico Ruivo and Europe's highest sea cliffs - Cabo Girao as well as the triangluar houses which are in the north.
