First time to sunny beach

If anyone can recommed any places to explore or go to while we are at sunny beach. we are going the 8th of may and have had a few bad reports on sunny beach and are not looking forward to going. would love to know any good pubs,night clubs and resturants to go to!!! and also what and if any good entertainments to go to on a night time would be much appreciated.
