First time where to stay

Hi I need your help, I am a single traveller and have booked flights for 21st May 2008 10 nights and am bewildered by the reveiws of Malta hotels which all seem to be negative, I need a good quality hotel cllose to restaurants and shops, nice clean room, not family orientated and have a budget for accomodation of £300, please help me make my mind up.
For your first time in malta try the Santana we have been going there for many years cant fault the place near to bus terminus car hire across the road big car park many bars Dianas being one of the best 50 yds from the santana we have booked again for june 08 (3 weeks)
I second that. The Santana hotel is pretty decent and at decent rates.

not sure if it will fit in your budget, but The Grand Hotel in Gozo, by the harbour, is very nice
