you will have a lovely time, we took ellie to turkey for the first time when she was 6 mths, i did take disposable bottles, carton ready made baby milk etc with me, to make things easier for me lol . olu deniz is lovely and the lagoon area like suara beach, sugar beach is perfect for little children as the beach is sandy, the sea is very calm and warm. make sure you take plenty of high sun factor and buy it in the uk as its dear in turkey and mozzie cream thats suitable for babies. the main olu deniz beach is very shingly and drops quite quickly, the scenery is fab. i personally dont like the babies clothes in turkey as they look cheap but thats my personal opinion, theres plenty of designer copies for your daughters age and of course for you if you dont mind that.

the turkish people adore children and they will be made a big fuss of. when ellie was 6 mths she got passed around like pass the parcel, getting kisses, pulling of the cheeks etc, they are very friendly kind people.

we are staying in the olu deniz resort in oct, but ive just found out my oldest daughter is expecting her first thats due around this time so not sure if i will have to cancel now , but its in a great location right next to the beach and gets very good reviews. have a lovely holiday, if i can help any more let me know

Turkey is great for children, my oldest daughter first went out there to live when she was 8 weeks old and we stayed there until she was 18 months and she was fine all the time we were there. We still go every year with both our girls, they are now 5 and 2 and they love it there.

I don't know what the shops are like in Olu Deniz but I used to buy all my baby items from the big supermarkets and they stocked most things there that we get int the UK; nappies, wipes, baby toiletries etc. If your baby is bottle fed you will probably do best to bring your own baby milk as there aren't so many brands available and it can be expensive. I don't know if your baby will be on solids but you can get packets of baby cereals, baby biscuits and things but not baby rice like we get here, the stuff they have there needs cooking rather than just mixing with milk.

Make sure you bring your own baby sun cream as it is not so easy to get and is expensive. Make sure your baby drinks lots of bottled water, not tap water. You can buy Johnson's baby cologne in the suprmarkets and pharmacies, which is great for keeping baby cool.

As the previous poster says, Turkish people love children and babies and they will get lots of attention.

olu deniz is lovely and the lagoon is fab, be careful though with small children when going into the sea as it drops quite quickly if you know what i mean lol! where abouts r u staying, there are plenty of lovely places to eat with a huge variety of food and the turkish love children, yiu dont get hassled in olu deniz either as they are not allowed to hasle you if they do they will get shut down.

Check out if Olu has a supermarket as we found we could buy most things for babies in the supermarkets in Gumbet. We first took my granddaughter to Turkey when she was 10 weeks old and everything was fine. If you've got a Tescos near you at home have a look at the L'Oreal Solar suntan lotion for babies/kids as they're doing a BOGOF on it (two for £14 instead of one) and as has been said, suntan lotion is expensive in Turkey.

The main baby milk stocked in Turkey seems to be Aptamil - we couldn't find anything else. The jars of baby food are fine. We also found that Chloe loved sucking on melon - great for the times when she didn't want a drink of juice as it got some fluids into her during the warm days.

What may be worth taking with you is one of those pop-up sun tents that fold down small to give you shade for the kids. Also if you can, try taking a blow-up paddling pool for the baby - I got one from Superdrug that is half shade (has a kind of fold-down sunshade on it). Another thing we found useful was a mosquito net for the buggy which fitted onto the hood and then under the foot rest. It was great during the evening and you could also put a cover over it (small sheet or something) for if the baby wants to sleep in the buggy when you're out in the evening.

I know that Ellie Meg says she didn't like the baby clothes but we found that the market stocked some great clothes. I don't mean the fake designer stuff but the clothes that the Turkish kids wear. We've bought some great clothes for our Chloe - and they were really smart.

There is quite a large a supermarket in Olu Deniz that would be the best place to look for any baby products if you needed something. Its down the main road. Turn right out of your hotel and then right again at the main junction, its situated on the left hand side of the road, about 100 yards down, in a basement.(A bit tucked away so you could easily miss it, you just see the steps leading down to it). I think it was called AZda but I may have that wrong. There is also a chemist a bit further up the road on the right. They are very helpful, the chemist herself had a baby daughter so was able to recommend things to my daughter. As you are AI I don't suppose you will need to know what restaurants are suitable for children but just in case I recommend the Lemon Tree, which has a childrens play area, right in the restaurant area. Sugar beach also has a soft play area and nice sandy beach with shallow water, but you will no doubt have all these facilities in the Olu deniz Hotel.

You will have a great time. We have had my grand daughter with us aged 4 months and 18months. She loved it. She was fascinated by the Kites, as she put it. eg The paragliders that are constantly landing on the beach. Exhausting, but then they are here too!

You will love Turkey

The Turks adore children and at times it can be a little disconcerting because we are so protective in the UK but you will get used to it.

there is a migros and azda in hisaronu just up the hill a dolmus ride away they do baby milk and nappies and a range of jar food all brand names,bottles and teats etc there are also alot of baby shops in fethiye as well as a large migros and a carrafour freanch owned supermarket
there is also a baby equipment hire avalible which i have used twice now and it is great there is a link on my website travel tots would recommend to save wieght

All the above advise is good .My four year old grandson has been to Turkey six times now the first time when he was six months old .The best thing we ever took with us was a small travel kettle to sterilise the bottles ,as we were in hotels which dont have them in the rooms.
