First timer to bulgaria!

Hi,after spending the last 3 yrs holidaying in turkey we thought we'd try somewhere different next year.With the overall positive attitudes to bulgaria on this site we've booked up for the Golden Dream apartments in SB.Can I say this is a wonderfull site for not only bularian virgins like us,but for the more experienced of you that have been before and the wealth of knowledge you pass onto newbies........keep up the good work and if anyone can tell me anything about the apartments we've chosen or the location its in it will be greatly appreciated.....Roll on next august and thanx in advance

Hi Kilty,

From the 2005 map, Golden Dream is located in the Southern half of the resort, just off the main road through the resort (towards Bourgas) near Hotels Bohemi and Amaris and Restaurant Soho.

.....Can anyone tell me is "bartering" a way of like in Bulgaria,I'd hate to embaress myself trying to knock a few quid off something if it aint really done there

.....And lastly for now........an update on the cost of a beer......typical jock huh.....tho I dont "barter" on the price of that...mostly :shock:

Hi kilty when we were were there in July the cost of a large beer was between 2 and 3lev spirits were about the same price if it was local spirits. That was in our hotel and a few places we ate in. June :glynis

. you know if they do all inclusive boat trips?Also,recommend any restaurants or bars...not that I'm suggesting you are an authority in pubs.......honest!

To save June's blushes, for good food and drinks at 'real' Bulgarian prices, try Djanny's (near the outdoor market) and the nearby Condor on the main road.

A large beer at Djanny's last June/July was 80 Stotinki (30 pence, or so) and most main courses were under 5 Leva (£1.75, or so).

we just got back from sunny beach, we ate in the condor a few times,
2 smirnoff ice, 2 large beers, 4 starters, 4 main courses,
approx 50 to 60 lev ( £20 to £22 ) the other place we liked was bistro billys about 5 mins from the yavor palace heading towards the beach, prices much the same and better service than the condor.[/list]

Hi billyncathy. Myself and my partner are going to yavor palace, sunny beach on the 26th of sept. I would be greatful of any pictures you could send. What was it like, did you have a good time and would you go back?
