Hello all
my family and i regulalry visit mallorca ( i have a 14 and 4 year old both boys) we haev grown to love the island, but we are now looking for somewhere different to visit like the beautiful island of ibiza.
We like to normally rent privately but i haev not had much luck and yes tend to go in the high season when the kids are off school - i have looked on ownersdirect and they seem really expesive compared to mallorca just wondered if anyone had any other website addresses for me to try.
any other info would be great - thanks in advance
you'll find ibiza is more expensive on villa rentals than mallorca because the season is so much shorter so people have to make their money in less time. you'll also find that if you want to reserve more reasonably priced accommodation (like mine) in august you have to book around a year in advance.
oh well i might as well wait for last minute and lliterally book a few days beforei travel form zny of the travel agents
can you please send me details of your apartment
kind regards
another thing of course is that the housing market is so much more expensive here - after barcelona and madrid, ibiza is the most expensive in spain! my long term plan is to sell my villa here, downsize slightly in mallorca and have wedges of cash to spare. a bit like a londoner retiring to oop north.

i lobe Mallorca but haev been there every yera for the past 7 years so wanted to take the kids somewhere different, might try mainland spain as well, Thank you for all your help and good luck with the downsizing

http://www.ibizaspotlight.com which has a lot of information. Not sure you would want to go there in July and August - I assume you were talking about the summer hols? - we go in May or September which is lovely but think in the height of the season it could get a bit mad, depends where you stay of course. As to the mainland you could try Benalmadena (costa del sol) which has quite a lot of local attractions and frequent cheap buses to Torremolinos and Fuengerola. We never had any trouble getting private lets there, go for somewhere near the front or you may end up a mile up the hill in the village! You also need to be within walking distance of the "Windmill roundabout" to be central.
Good luck
Katy
I'm sure you've booked somewhere by now (just seen your post) but if not you could try Good luck
