booked with FC, had a delay of over 3 hours from Manchester on 3/1/08, eventually got on ther flight, cannot fault the service, leg room etc, had a late flight so had lots of cat naps so arrived feeling quiet refreshed. Immigration took a while to get through but when in Goa nothing is rushed. We got a Taxi from the Airport, that was a funny experience when i look back on it, ie all the taxi driver grabbing us saying taxi taxi, which became the most popular word of our holiday. We stayed at Silver Sands in Candolim in a superior room, at first i was a little shocked but after seeing the standard of accomdation in Goa we did really like it, the staff are really pleasant and nothing is to much trouble, the breakfast we very basis and if you didnt have your own teeth to crack the toast in the morning you where in trouble. We had a choice of three diffferent places to eat our breakfast and we tryed all three but never found a soft piece of toast (ha ha). Went down to the the beach the first afternoon and went to Lawrencio shack and i had a chicken biryani and OH had butter chicken and this was the first of some lovely food we eat whilst in Goa. Next day we went to Bobbys shack, they charged us 100 rps for our beds each even though we eat and drank there all day, so you live and learn we didnt go back there, we did try a few shacks but our fav was Boat Shack, wonderful food, great beach boys. Did the spice plantation, waterfalls, a few beaches up north but the highlight of the holiday was a trip we booked through Valarie Tours in Calangute to Cola Beach in the South, this was the best trip i have ever done on any holiday i have been on. We where picked in the morning at 8.30 and driven down South with another couple that we meet out there and we had the whole beach to the four of us, we stayed in a Tent that had running water, a toilet, shower, it was a beautiful beach we had a lovely lunch, dinner and breakfast next day, we where entertained at the night time by Goan Dancers and had a boat trip the next morning to see the dolphins, sea otters, and went to Butterfly beach all for £25. The manager was called Sanjay and he was lovely

All in all we had a very relaxing two weeks that felt like three, i was very surpised how busy the beaches and streets where as i personally havent been anywhere with that many brits in one place, to me it was like Brits Abroad, that was the only shock i had. I have nothing against Brits i am one through and through but i didnt go to india and exspect that. We have travelled alot and never experienced that before, even in Turkey. Would we go back??? the answer is yes but i think it would be the South. Went along to the HT meet at the Cavery on Weds 7th Jan and met lots of nice people and had a good night. Will add more if think of anything :
