Swimwear, shorts, skirts,t shirts, stappy tops for the day, vests and shorts for the lads, take some extra warmer thing in case.
Night time, some years we`ve gone out in short selves and not had to wear a jacket or cardigan. Other times we`ve had a jacket on.
Take something waterproofjust incase, hopefully you won`t need it but better to have it than have to go and buy it there.
Sandals,shoes and socks as well.
As we thought - a difficult one to pack for!
the sea will still feel cold for swimming
We have friends out there at the moment, and folks are swimming in the pools & the sea
I went to Torremolinos at the end of January, weather was perfect. Folks said the sea was too cold to swim in. I had a wee dip, it wasnt too bad. Anybody that has swam in the Irish Sea in July will think the Med in March is positively balmy!
just wondering has the weather started getting any warmer.? I know it hasn't been too good over the last couple of weeks.
http://www.andaluz-tv.de and watch the first 3 webcams. Hubby thinks I'm crazy!!
Helen, forgot to tell you. I've been watching a webcam - Yes WATCHING a webcam just to see what people are wearing at the mo. The temps are starting to pick up (shows the temp to) and some people are in shorts and t-shirts. Look at
Don't take too much notice of the temperatures shown. The sensors are inside the camera housings and give false readings when the sun is shining directly on the camera !
Any idea how much spends we'll need for a week? We're B & B, so will need to buy a light lunch and a decent evening meal. We also enjoy a few drinks & will have to pay the taxi transfers. We've never been anywhere for just a week. Roll on Thanks
hiya my hubby is out there at the moment, the weather is fantastis, hes wearing shorts during the day.he says it is dead there in the evevnings with all the bars being empty he is very dissapointed, they usually go to beni but fancied a change this year.
Hi Helen, I usually allow around £50 for 2 adults and a child for food and drink, we tend to drink the local stuff and we don`t eat in expensive places(son only 8, so still working on table maners ) Transfers are around £20 each way and a bit extra for pressies, things you will buy and days out. I would say the last time we had a week there we spent around £500 ish. It all depends what you drink and how up market you go. We tend to have tapas for lunch 20-30 euros. wine is about 5-7 euros a bottle for the house wine, beer 2-3 euros a pint, soft drinks 1.50-2 euros ,local spirit and mixer 3-4 euros.Menu of the day is available aound 10 euros of a 3 course meal including wine.
Thanks both. I was hoping around £500 would cover it as we're off again to Crete for 2 weeks in August. Hopefully as we're going over Easter it will be a bit livelier when we get there.
I hope the euro exchange rate picks up for you. Some friends of ours bought euros at a UK Post Office last week and only got 1.24 euros to the pound. It might be better to get your euros in Spain.
I was thinking about that as the rate is very low at present. I don't think I remember it being this low ever. Anyone have an idea what the rate is in Spain at the moment?
Hi Helen and Shirley just a quick note to say have a fantastic time in Torremolinos. Let us know how you found it when you get back. I go on the 30th March.Going to go to Torremolinos the next day, going to sample the Tapas and Sherrys, wine and ports on Sanmiguel street, perhaps not all in the same day, there`s some great Bodageas on this street. If you fancy a nice walk, walk up to Paloma park. Arroy del mei is a nice place to shop.
thanks for thinking of us. We're getting excited now. We have one shift at work tomorrow and then we'll be heading for Bristol where we'll be staying overnight before our early morning flight. We'll probably think of you and everyone else who's advised us whilst we're having our first drink at the resort. Probs around 11.30am
Me to, to all the peops that have advised, we leave for airport at 2am friday morn, many thanks to all who answered all questions.
Twinky Winkey, have a great time. Save some sun and beer/wine for us. You will love Toremolinos, La Carihella is a fantastic place some smart shops and bars.
thanks we will, hope weather nice.
