Hi
We are all booked and ready for our first family holiday (myself, wife and 18mth old son). I dont think we could have chosen a better location for this time of year.
I have got the flights/villa/car booked but now need help on things to do for the week that we are there (14th - 21st Oct).
We are staying in Peyia and will more than likely be spending most of our time at the beaches or at the villa.
I got loads of info on retaurants/beaches etc from this forum so thank you all very much.
I want to make the most of the 4x4 i have hired. So i am asking you guys where should i go and what should i see.
I am planning to go to Latchi/Polis for 1 day, so what would be the best, ie most scenic route, for me to take?
Also I would like to drive up Mount Olympus, so again can anyone help with a route?
Any other recommendations would be good too.
Thanks
Pegia to Agios Georgios, take a look at the harbour.
There's also Snake George's place.
Agios Georgios along Lara Beach. Lunch at the Last Castle/Viklari Restaurant
or the Lara Restaurant.
Lara Beach to Neo Chorio
via Smyggies picnic area. (A bit hairy, if you are of a nervous disposition.)
Neo Chorio to Latchi/Polis.
Mark
I had planned to have lunch at Viklari on the way to Polis.
Also does anybody have any info about Hot Air Balloon flights in the Paphos area and would they be suitable for an infant?
There was a guy doing hot air baloon trips, but he was being used as a political pawn, apparently re his licence to do so.
I believe from another forum that he never did get his licence sorted out (red tape and all that) and has now given up and returned home
Got a couple more questions for the experts...
Firstly, what is the closest supermarket in/near Peyia or on route from the airport? I will need some supplies for my son as soon as i arrive. Also will it be open on a sunday evening and will it have a money exchange?
Secondly, anyone driven through the Troodos? I would like to have a day away from the beaches and would love to the drive. So if anyone can help with a route (also how long will it take to get there from Peyia)?
Thanks
I don't think he does currency exchange there. There are banks in Peyia but you would have to wait until Monday morning.

Are there any supermarkets on the way to Peyia that will do money exchange? I am planning to bring approx 100CYP from England, but will have to pay for petrol in the hired car and will also need some for dinner. Therefore would like to know of anywhere that will be open until 5pm-ish and will give me a good rate.
Also, any chance you can tell me where the second photograph in the Paphos gallery on your website was taken...I would love to go and see that.
I wouldn't bother if you expect it to look like the picture. That won't happen until spring, so long as there's a wet winter. Cyprus at present is dry, dry, dry!!
Re Troodos, I've never driven from that area, so can't help re a route, but would recommend a visit to Kakopetria and Pedhoulas.
Very few Zed Cars over there.
