It depends what sort of fishing he wants to do. There are always oppertunties for a bit of shore fishing in the places mentioned for small species, it can be quite good fun! It'll be worth taking a telescopic rod and a few bits and pieces and having a go, bait is readily avaialbe from shops and supermarkets (eg bread, tinned meats, shrimps etc). For larger species and offshore fishing, there are few oppertunities. It all depends on what sort of fishing he wants to do.

thanks darren for your reply.in the past he has been shore fishing but without much success!he has fished in santorini,skiathos,zante & lefkas and only ever caught two big fish!so this year i am looking for a place where there are fish! it might be his fault as he tends not to catch much here either!! anyway if you have any suggestions where to go in the greek islands or even spain/canaries i would be grateful.thank you

Anywhere in those areas should be able to provide good fishing opertunities. Its a question of finding the best spots. Just look out for likely fish holding areas like rocky outcrops or reefs. Harbour walls, groynes, etc are good places to try. Follow the locals as well, they always know the best spots!

It would depend on what type of fising you mean.
My hubby has carp fished in tenerife, but next is to the rive ebro in spain.

there are loads of places on the Canaries that do Deep Sea fishing
there are lots of Areas of France and Spain that can be fished easily but some are really only available to campers
(Eurocamp is still camping -- wash my mouth out with soap)

I know of

Rio Ter near L'Estartit from the bridge there is Bass and Mullet on the sea side and Carp, Pike Eel and Course fish on the land side

The Canal Du Midi you can take a barge or find a campsite from the Atlantic to the Med
