hi
recently in delhi some members of LeT were caught with 1.5 Kgs of RDX which they bought from Mumbai for a task. they didnt know what the task was and were waiting for instructions. very much possible that because of that the airports are on high alert as even in the past the LeT warned about attacking south India airports.
Do not worry. things are still under control and hoefully will be. i dont think lashker e taiba can spoil the fun and Thrill of people visiting Goa because of the beauty of the place. its just irrestiable
hope that answers the question.
Cheers

I departed from Dabolim on Monday 11/12/06 to Gatwick. There was a flight which had been delayed 15 hours which should have departed on Sunday 10/12/06 for Birmingham. I was told by our Tour Rep that this was due to illness of a member of the crew. As far as I am aware there were no further cancelled/delayed flights to the UK that day.
By coincidence, according to the Mumbai Sunday Express Newspaper & NDTV News Security at all Indian airports had been increased that day after intelligence reports that Pakistan-based militants could try to hijack an aircraft. I am not aware of any further reports of this threat since returning to UK either on the internet or NDTV News.
If there are cancellations the local Tour Rep should be keeping all clients fully informed of any developments.

Could this be to do with the Israeli's warning of an attack in Goa?? We have all been suspecting for a long time this might happen and around this time of year would be the optimum time I guess. Also one of my colleagues got delayed at Trivendrum just recently - we have just opened an office there he said it was him and about 5,000 Indians milling outside the airport! This was as a result of a terror threat.

The terrorist threat on Monday 11/12/06 was specific. The threat of an attack by Al-Queda is on-going world-wide. There is the reasurance of an increased Police presence in all tourist resorts day & night. Dabolim is a military airport anyway therefore is always high security.

My son arrived on a My travel flight at Dabolim this morning, it was on time. They are not allowing vehicles into the airport itself until people come out of the arrivals hall, they then let vehicles in to collect passengers. Our taxi driver had to fill a form in to say who he was picking up on which flight and where he was staying.

Since the threat from Al-Queda, which was reported on NDTV News about 6 weeks ago, that an airport in southern India would be targeted by a car bomb, no private vehicles are allowed outside any airport now, except for VIP's.

It would be a waste of a life of we spent our time worrying about the negative things that may happen.

More chance winning the lottery* than being part of an attack in Goa. But we aint getting excited about that (checks numbers again)

*Does not apply to those who don't buy tickets
