I always give then a ring a couple of days before the flight - last summer my outbound flight to Varna was rescheduled three times in the week preceding departure, so there were several rather irate calls in that period.

P.S. I had booked last summer's flight with either ebookers or lastminute, who hadn't informed me of the rescheduling - I was informed by Bulgaria Air staff that it would have been their obligation to notify me, had I booked directly with them. They refunded me over £70 as I had to make two changes to my travel arrangements to Gatwick.

The airline has since been purchased by the Hemus Group - hopefully there will be no repeat of last year's rescheduling & flight dalays.

As a frequent flyer from Cardiff as you are, do you think i should check with Balkan holidays before my sunday flight on the 15th. Never thought to really, but bearing in mind with the hightened security it might be a good idea. What do you think oh experienced one?

@ kathchad - I never fly from Cardiff these days, only Gatwick. There is no need to reconfirm with Balkan Holidays, as far as I can recall, but check your paperwork to see what they advise.

we are flying from gatwick to varna tomorrow afternoon at 4.55 with first choice , i have been on the varna website which says that the flight is scheduled , but i cant find it on the gatwick site , as they only do live times , who should i ring to confirm or should i not ?

PS Baldur, I did check today on the live flights Gatwick page and this weeks Wednesday flight with the same number did depart at the time I'm expecting so fingers crossed no changes
