just had a quick look on our systems, prices are from £159 per person for a flight only but prices depend on where you fly from, dates and duration - the closer you get to the school hols the prices do go up pm me if you want more details

Hi, just returned from a glorious week in March, so envious of you!!!

No, seriously we booked our flights indepentlywith a company called Meridian Line travel, just do a search on google and it will come up. Excellent service and good after sales. Bearing it mind it was Easter school holidays, we paid £199, but will be much less if out of season. Happy holidays

Hi

Is it a lot cheaper to get flights on their own and arrange your own accommodation opposed to booking a package holiday?

a lot of the time DIY is cheaper, however i am having trouble finding cheap flights as fuerteventura only seems to have flights from all the major Tour ops, so no great prices. looked into Iberia out of Heathrow , via Madrid, this was the cheapest i could find ! im stuck as i can only go during school holidays :!:

I have been looking at the possiblity of holidaying Fuerteventura.

I usually book all parts of my holiday seperate.

I was shocked to see the price of a return flight from luton to fuerteventura is over £200.

Who does everyone else use to fly there? Surely nobody pays this for a flight?

Flights to Fuerte sadly are often higher than the average. One of the reasons being that there isnt the volume of flights that there is to say tenerife nor is the island served by low cost carriers and with the impending merger of MyTravel & Thomas Cook the situation isnt going to get any better.
That being said I have just got flights for october with Thomsonfly from manchester for £109 each all in. Its really a case of constantly checking the websites of the charter carriers that go there and jump in when a bargain comes along.

Well worth doing, as Fuerte is lovely and all the better for not being a mass market destination.

I was shocked at the flight prices too. Have just paid £1,200 for four return flights in August. Would have liked to wait till nearer the time to book to see if the prices go down, but we are limited to going away on one particular weekend in August, and had already booked our accomodation so we didn't feel we could risk it.

This is the first time we have had to go in the school holidays and it is a bit of a shock having to fork out that amount. I was keeping an eye on the prices for about 3 weeks and during that time the price rose by around £100!

Hi,

I have paid £960.00 for 5 us ( 2 adults 3 kids 16, 8 and 7 ) to fly on July 14th from Bristol. By taking the two youngest out of school for 5 days it saves us about £300.00. The oldest finishes school end of June after GCSE's.

Our accomodation for 2 weeks is £600.00 so it goes half way to that.

I would recommend Skyscanner, it is a great tool. You usually end up flying through two different opperators, but I got a return to Gran Canaria for about £63 including tax.

WOW
I just got two one way tickets to Fuerte with XL for only £72 for BOTH - All inc. Cant do better than that.. AND that's departing 1st week in August.

Ryanair are starting direct flights from Liverpool later this year. Prices on the website now, looks between £19.99 and £39.99 each way. Flying 3x per week as well.

Other alternative is to go UK to Dublin and use Ryanair again.

Either way, flights tend to work out at around £450-500 for a family of four.

A lot cheaper than the £1200 we are quoted to fly using other operators.
