Hi,
We were hoping to travel to Orlando next april (9th to 24th). We have the holiday booked from work and accomodation sorted. The problem has been the flights. I first looked about a month ago but thought they were coming pout very expensive so I left it. Now we are still 9 months away but direct flights are over £1000 pewr adult with virgin and approaching £900 on BA. We can get one-stop flights coming out around £670 per adult but this is a lot longer and arduous especially with kids!
My concern is that with 9 months still to go, will the airlines introduce extra flights to accomodate the extra interest (argument being it would be silly for Virgin to keep prices so high and allow customers to go elsewhere). Surely then once extra flights are introduced the prices should come down to ensure they reach some sort of capacity.
Can somebody please put my mind at rest! I know airlines dont do sales during school holidays but I just wanted reasonable prices being so far in advance. I even checked 2 week flydrive on virginholidays as an outside chance and the price came out at £7000 ( only had business class!)
Thank you
Welcome onboard
Which airport are you looking to fly from? I assume London (Gatwick/Heathrow) given you've been looking at BA (or dare I say London Airways!). You've got loads of options if you look at a connection through a US hub. Have you tried Thomas Cook or Thomson Airways non-stop to Sanford from Gatwick? Travel City Direct sometimes offer good prices for Virgin flights.

Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have looked on comparison websites opodo, travelsupermarket etc. We would fly from any London airport!
The main schedule airlines all go in to MCO, but the charters in to SFB. You might find, depending on the flight, the charter aircraft have more seat pitch too. You'll find aircraft information on our What Aircraft? guide (link below).

Very doubtful that Virgin or BA would introduce extra flights for just a short Easter period and that you would see prices tumble. Easter is a very popular time to fly to Florida and I suspect seats will sell out. As previous posters suggest, look at charters (but those will book quickly for Easter) or in-direct flights to save a few £££'s - or if you want direct flights with BA or Virgin I suspect you will have to pay the premium.
