hmm ok, thanks :D

one memory that best sums up goa for me is seeing the cows roaming the roads and beaches, with not a care in the world. Tourists not bothering about the cows being there because they're in a relaxed holiday mood and had a skinful of kingfisher :rofl

my little ones nursery teacher couldnt believe it when i told her cows roam the beaches, she said she'll start to put the toy cows in the sand pit
(edit
did you notice I changed the title just for you!!

On the last afternoon we were in Calangute sat at the rock cafe watching the world go by.
My husband was wearing some brown leather sandals , he's had them a few years and the stitching was starting to come undone , so he said he would just leave them there and buy a new pair for our next holiday.
After sitting there a while a young lad in ragged clothes came up and asked my hubby if he wanted his shoes shined, my hubby explained to him - no thanks and showed him they were coming undone , the boy inspected the sandals and declared it a 'big job' - he then beckoned over 2 other lads (one was his brother) and they too inspected the sandals , the older lad (the boy's brother) said no problem - took out of his bag a giant needle and some strong thread.
he then fixed and polished the sandals in a couple of minutes for the princely sum of 60 rupees - my husband and I turned to each other and said "only in India" and my husband was chuffed to bits as the sandals look like new.
needless to say they are now coming along to Thailand and Cambodia in summer.

I have so many great memories of Goa - but somehow watching the craziness of Calangute from the rock cafe that afternoon made me realise I had fallen in love with Goa with a passion and I hope to return many times.

last year, a 24hr hour delay put half our party in a hotel in cavelossim, the rest returned to the nizmar, after we had dinner at our hotel in cavelossim there was a message for us from a porter our son had made friends with in the nizmar, he wanted to ride down on his scooter to make sure we were ok!! we called him back and managed to assure him there was no need, but that type of open friendliness makes our holidays

this year running down the road at 2.00 am to get my sister who insisted she was not going home - funny, she is 50

at 3.00 am a 5 minute journey for airport pick due to a blocked lane up turning into a 4 mile detour and whistle blowing reversing fiasco as can only occur in Goa

roll on next year

the smile on our taxi drivers face when he picks us up after landing at dabolim,it says it all :o the welcome at the hotel when seeing old faces again makes you feel that you havnt been away and the easiness that you just fall back into the relaxed way of life ,, unforgetable :D

A friend's wife had been eyeing up a diamond ring all holiday and on the last night he weakened! The deal was done, credit card offered but for some reason it wouldn't go through.

I could see my mate was thinking there was a god after all and he had just proved his existence by saving him £350. Then the man in the shop said to me, "I see you every year. You pay me next year."

I didn't know the bloke from Adam - jewellery isn't my thing - but he was prepared to let a stranger walk away with a £350 ring and trust us to pay next year. I know a lot of sellers say "pay me next year" for a joke but this guy meant it!

We declined but called in the shop two hours later and for some reason the card was accepted. Smiles all round!
