Hi Everyone
I am after a bit of advice for a family member.
My cousin has booked a holiday for her family and are due to fly out on Sunday morning. However her daughter yesterday managed to cut the top off her finger and they have been told by the doctor that they should cancel their holiday as the finger needs to be re-dressed everyday and checked as she is only 7.
After being told this my cousin went to the travel agent who told her that because the accident happened within 90 days of travelling that she would have to claim off her travel insurance. My cousin asked if it would be possible to postpone the holiday for a month or so but the travel agent wouldn't hear of it and told her no that this wasn't possible due to the 90 day rule.
Has anyone every heard of this or encountered this?? Also I had a look through her travel documents but I could not seem to find any information or terms and conditions of booking.
Any help/advice would be appricated!!

I would have thought it was one for a travel insurance claim. Re postponement it may be worth a try ringing the TO directly?
that didn't have a clause about cancelling (either by you or them) and there's always a point where you get no money back (I thought 56 days was more common but within a week will definately be too late). Which company are they dealing with? This is a case for insurance and would simply need a doctors certificate showing unfit to travel. They will lose the excess, about £40-50 these days.
If the doctor has only said it needs checking/ redressing and could be done by a doctor in the resort but your cousin simply wants to cancel to avoid the hassle they would class this as disinclination and not pay out.
I've never seen any T&Cs If the doctor has only said it needs checking/ redressing and could be done by a doctor in the resort but your cousin simply wants to cancel to avoid the hassle they would class this as disinclination and not pay out.
