Even more bizarrely, Glynis, when I was recently browsing some cruise offers the single cabin fares where more than double the per head cost for a twin in a better location on the ship! In other words it would actually be cheaper to book for two people sharing a twin and then just turn up on my own. I did wonder about how I'd fare if I booked for 2 and then cancelled the 2nd name and told them that I knew I wouldn't be entitled to any refund! Or say to a pal 'do you want to come with me for free because it will be cheaper for me to do that than book a single'. :-) As a single person who actually quite enjoys travelling on my own, I find that the pricing structures for lone travellers often defy all logic.
