Fish alley runs parallel to the seafront in the centre, about 10 minutes walk from the Myramar end of town. Dozens of bars and restaurants there and along the front to choose from.
Decent tapas bars include tippi tapas near Dunnes Stores, El Pinxta on Hnos. Pinzon which is up the main drag from Dunnes about 50 yards and turn right and theres a couple of others just around the corner on San Pancracio but I don't know the names. Best Bodega is El Toston right beside the bus station. The beach restaurants are also very good, basically look for where the Spanish are eating.
Old London Bar on the front is cheap and good for a laugh, has all the Sports on TV. Get tanked there then head for the London Bar 150 yards up the road and pay 3 times the price for a beer but it does have the nightlife you may be looking for.
Yes, the tapas bars listed by Big Chiv are worth checking out, and I add Los Marineros, which is far left (looking to sea) in the port.
Thanks for for your suggestions, will definately use some of them.
The main place I found last year for restauurants was in the pedestrianised path which ran parallel withe the main prom. Is this where the vast majority of restaurants are in Fuengirola? Can anyone recommend any particular restaurants and their location. Going in 5 days and cant wait to go back
We are going to Fuengirola in June (Yeahhh!!!), does anyone have any recommendations for restaurants?
Tipi tapa great tapas cheap and nice wine
Moochers-fish alley great pancales lovely cocktails good atomosphere
El patio los boliches spanish restaurant fab tapas really cheap and tradtional
ty kazza. But only 1 night to go.
Does anybody have any uptodate recommendations on good eateries please. Its about 5 years since we were last in Fuengirola and I guess there will be quite a few changes. Are the scratch card kids still a problem with their pestering.
Did'nt see any scratch card kids all week. As we were half board we just had light snacks but we found a great English Tapas Bar only been open 9 weeks it's called Tonic and it's on the harbour front.
Thanks Jilly, good news on the scratch card front. An english tapas bar, what sort of dishes do they offer.......sounds interesting.
I suppose it's spanish tapas but made by english people. Each tapas costs 2 euro. There is a board displayed and the tapas change daily. Our favourite was champange prawns also recommend the sweet chilli chicken but everything was very tasty. You can also get large sandwiches which come with chips they looked very good too.
you can also have the menu de noches at 9.95, 2 courses, but you can choose from the tapas menu too.
great father/daughter team own it, suzi and dadi, will make you feel very welcome.
Kangaroo and frogs legs..............bet you were jumping after that.
no, we were hopping mad after paying the bill, hehehehehhe !

You can eat inside or outside in the large courtyard. This is a must!

I remember La Farola from the last time we were in Fuengie , six years ago. the food was excellent but if you were eating outside , you had to watch out for the local youngsters playing footie. I seem to remember that it was around the corner from another excellent restaurant called The Bistro. Is this still in business.
Hi, yes just near the Bistro, never ate in there but was still open for buisiness. Never had any trouble with kids and footballs, we ate there twice. We were recommended both places by the man who came to check on the swimming pool.
Thinking of going to fuengirola for xmas are there still plenty of restaurants and shops open at this time ?
try casa robertos, just down from main post office, in guinness book for golf clubs but it is kind of unique, food is allways the same standard
Christmas and New Year are nice. Most places take their holidays in Jan or Feb so plenty of choice. Primavera is a good Italian used by locals, reasonably priced in Los Boliches area. In Torreblanca for day time food try Coast to Coast. Changed hands this year but food is still good. We like thier Sunday lunch. At the other end of the Paseo Portofino is a quality restaurant but above average price. If you want a really special night you can try Valparaiso on the Mijas Road. Expensive but it is really nice around Christmas with its fairy lights etc - Pictures of loads of celebrity guests on the walls including the Beckhams
